the room smelled like bleach, the walls were sprayed with something and never wiped so they had drip stains, the room was not clean, ants were in the room, didn’t use actual bed sheets, staff was clearly high

Great location, clean rooms, free coffee, tea, hot cocoa.
Pros:

I always stay at the English Bay hotel because of its great location, honest price and facilities such as having a kitchen. The free coffee, tea and cocoa are always welcome. The room and bathroom are usually clean, and I noticed this because most of the cleaning staff is Brazilians, and we have fantastic cleaning standards. I hope the owners are good employers! Keep employing Brazilians and I will keep coming back :)

Cons:

The rooms are a bit dated, the mattress has seen better days, the one in my room was visibly sagged. The air conditioner sent off a weird smell when turned on. The wifi was useless, I tried different ones and they were so slow that I preferred using my mobile service.

Overall, a pleasant stay. A bit noisy from traffic or people taking on the street below, I the window was open

Very happy
Pros:

Love the full kitchen and tub. Perfect location for shops and restaurants. Good service on wake up call and taxi.Let me in at noon.Close to elevator as requested. Cofee in lobby:)

Cons:

Floors need changing. Hotel a bit run down
but good price. Nice view.

Very well located close to the beach and park. The spaciousness of the rooms makes up for the decor.
Pros:

Excellent location on Denman and close to Davie. Sea view and two minutes from English Bay beach and Stanley Park. Spacious rooms and many shops and restaurants nearby

Cons:

The rooms need refurbishing and updating, and there is some street noise from the restaurants.

Having the option of a kitchen was nice though we didn't utilize it very much.

We didn't utilize the kitchen very much. Having a bar fridge would have sufficed and having the extra space for living would have been preferred.
