I expected the property to be near the beach but it was quite a long way from it.
Pros:

I think I might have been the only guest that night.

Cons:

When I reached the property there was no one at the reception. I had to go around in circles until someone came to attend me. Same thing when I was checking out. I had an early morning flight and I informed them about it but when I was leaving there was no one available. I had to leave the key in the office and leave.

Pros:

The staff were lovely, very friendly & helpful, things that weren't there that were supposed to be according to the listing on booking.com were provided on request. We had booked a suite & it was very spacious, the bed was comfortable & the bathroom modern. The kitchen had a kettle & tea/coffee & a small fridge.

Cons:

As with other properties on booking.com, the description of the room you book is not correct. We booked a suite that has doors opening out on to the pool area but when we arrived we were told that is already booked. We were given a suite on the 5th floor which was fine but it was supposed to have a kitchenette with cooking facilities etc but there was no cooker, toaster, plates or cutlery! However, the staff provided plates etc when we asked. The pool wasn't very nice, the water was a bit murky looking, the staff did admit they had a problem with it at the time we were there which was a shame as we couldn't use it.

If we wasn’t leaving for the airport we would of left and found somewhere else
Pros:

Staff we nice and welcoming

Cons:

The pool was green on arrival couldn’t use that day, and so many chemicals was thrown in to make it clear for the next day, I wouldn’t trust that. Pictures show about 8 sunbeds , there was 3 and only 2 with cushions.

Nette Mitarbeiter, herzlicher Empfang. Schöne location im " Kolonialstil" , ruhig gelegen. Geräumiges Zimmer.
Ich habe mich wohlgefühlt.

Cons:

Frühstück war okay, aber nicht besonders üppig.

Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo, vicinissimo al centro e alla spiaggia, personale gentilissimo, mi sono sentita a casa, ho soggiornato qui dieci giorni e mi sono sentita accolta e sia con i proprietari che con lo staff mi sono sentita come in una famiglia

Convenient Stopover
Pros:

Good hotel for the money. Lovely friendly staff. Close to shops and restaurants. Comfortable and clean just what we needed before going to the airport.

Great for a short stay in Negombo, lovely friendly staff and nice pool facilities.
Pros:

Really lovely staff and owners, very helpful and communicative. Lovely, clean pool with lots of sun beds available. Very large room with big comfortable bed.

Cons:

Quite limited breakfast but still fair for the price of the room.

Kind and helpful staff, large suites, great pool and the best location
Pros:

The welcome and the staff were amazing. Upgraded to a wonderful large apartment. The pool was also great and location was two minute walk to the Main Street, Lewis street with all the restaurants and shops. Absolutely loved St Lachlans.

A good place to stay when just arrived or leaving. Excellent value for money.

The pool was nice as was the size of the room which also had seats in it. The manager was very helpful.

Although the property is listed as 4 star it is barely 2 star.
There are no kitchen facilities as listed, empty old cabinets. Apartment door did not lock from inside. Poor state of repair. Many items missing from listed facilities. No dining or bar facilities except for buffet breakfast. Receptionist used his mobile phone to scrap what looked like poo in my toilet. I moved out after one night and fighting for refund. Not as advertised. DO NOT STAY HERE
