We were only there for 2 days, but really enjoyed the ocean view from our private balcony.
Pros:

Short walk to the beach, The free little breakfast. The women working the registration desk were very pleasant and informative.

Cons:

Building is old and run down which made it look unclean. Floor in bathroom dirty and had spider webs behind the door. Tub was dirty looking. Sliding glass door was filthy and the tracks were even filthier. The pool was very small. The sign said max of 22 people but I counted 12 people and they couldn’t swim because it was too crowded. Also, the sign out front advertised that the pool was climate controlled but was freezing cold the whole time we were there. The area for breakfast was so small that we had to take it back to the room to eat. The breakfast was just processed food you put in microwave, nothing fresh. Microwave little sausage biscuits, waffles, little muffins and little Dole fruit cups, no fresh fruit. The balcony barely fit two chairs on it so our granddaughter had to sit on our lap and it was hard to get up it was so crowded.

Needs a lot of updating. Not sure I’d be back. But we loved the island of Tybee beach. Beautiful fun place.
Pros:

The location on the beach and the pool was really nice and well kept. Staff was friendly.

Cons:

The room was dirty, mattresses stained and uncomfortable. Carpets filthy and stained. Found old bottles under the bed. Shower was clogged. Acted like it was gonna be a big deal to fix but they did send someone out later that night to fix it.

The hotel has amazing access to beach with clean rooms.
Pros:

The property was right off the beach and ocean which was awesome! The room (and the hotel overall) was older but clean. The pool was nice

Cons:

The room and grounds overall were older. There was a breakfast but it did not include any protein type of items.

DeSoto Beach Hotel is our favorite on Tybee Island!
Pros:

Our room had the best view of the ocean of any room at the hotel! Room was within 30 feet of the beach. Breakfast was very good. There were also several covered parking spots which was a plus. We love the DeSoto Beach hotel at Tybee!

Cons:

Nothing worth mentioning.

We were very satisfied with our stay at DeSoto. Breakfast and room met our expectations.
Pros:

Everything was nice. We were pleased with our stay and the comfort of the room. Towels for the pool would be nice to have had.

Cons:

Beach area had a ledge to get down on beach area, I fell getting down on the beach. It would have been nice if someone from the hotel ensured the area safe to walk onto the beach from the walkway leading out to the beach.

Amazing location if you don’t mind no frills
Pros:

The location was perfect for us but the hotel does need some refurbishing. The bed felt more like a hammock and bathroom showed signs of surface mod and old shower door. Breakfast is really just cereal, some mini muffins, and some bagels. Don’t regret it because the accessibility to a serene beach that was not nearly as crowded as the south beach was priceless.

Older property, fairly clean and close to the beach.
Pros:

Distance to beach was OK. Staff was Pleasant

Cons:

Pool is small, Our door was bent at the bottom on 312 and you could see daylight. Wen the people next door smoked on the sidewalk som of the odor got into our room. Breakfast was a little on the lacking side.
