Recommended for downtown stay
Pros:

Well located downtown center, less than 1/2 mile to the Capitol. Perfect walking area. Great access to restaurants. Quiet hotel, great staff.

Pros:

Very conveniently located next to State Street and the U W campus

Cons:

There is a lot of high rise construction going on around the hotel but that will eventually go away as a traffic problem

Great stay for my daughter and I on UW Madison visit.
Pros:

Place was clean, staff was friendly, and the breakfast was well run. It was close to UW Madison.

Cons:

The pillows were not great.

Absolutely wonderful
Pros:

We were upgraded for our 23rd wedding anniversary! It was a wonderful surprise. And we received a bottle of wine. What a wonderful way to make us feel special! Staff was so kind and so attentive.

Have Stayed Here More than 15 Times and Will Continue
Pros:

We came to Madison for a Trek cycling event nearby and always stay at this hotel. Everyone is very friendly and the rooms are very spacious. Although not a luxurious hotel, the value is great. We've stayed here more than a dozen times and have always had a great experience each time. The bar/restaurant located at street level is probably a separate company not associated with the hotel but makes it very convenient for a meal or drinks. Everything is very clean throughout rooms and public areas.
