The Dormy Hotel, Cromer
Pros:

We both agreed the room was adequate for the price. We had stayed at the Dormy before and really liked our stay, hence us re booking it again.
Everything we needed was there and although the bed was a firm small double we had a comfy night's sleep.

Cons:

We discovered, much to our disappointment, there's no longer a cooked breakfast option - the wording in the Booking.com description does not make this very clear at all. There was just a DIY food basket in our room. The cooked breakfast we had there last time was really good and we had been looking forward to that!

Pros:

The breakfast was different, supply of brekkie treats in the room.
Coffee and tea supplied in the room with a good sized kettle.
The bed was super comfy.

Sad, previously we loved coming to the dormy, but the accountant running this place has ruined it.
Pros:

Location

Cons:

In decline, poor development decisions have degraded the experience.
Bar prices are high, you pay for a breakfast, but do not get one.
They do not even have a restaurant anymore, just restaurant priced bar meals

Great place for an impromptu short stay.
Pros:

Brilliant location. Ten minute walk to the beach and close to Sheringham and Cromer. Clean and friendly. The breakfast hamper was good and gave me flexibility to eat when I wanted. I was on my own for 2 of the 4 days of my stay but felt very comfortable.

Cons:

I ate in the restaurant twice and though the meat and fish was good the vegetables were overcooked in the carvery

Mixed feelings
Pros:

The staff and restaurant very good, the room was reasonably comfortable with a fridge and complimentary breakfast.

Cons:

The room we booked was not available for some reason so we agreed to an alternative room before travelling,we thought we would be on the ground floor but on arrival we were put upstairs in room number 14 by far the nosiest room I have ever had on the main road.We had to have windows open because of the heat ,the only fan was totally inadequate and it would be sensible to have a small AC unit in the room.Mentioned this to bar staff as reception was not staffed. We did contemplate moving out early ,only the friendly staff and service changed our mind.

Nice stay for a reasonable price
Pros:

Room was basic but had everything we needed for a 1 night stay. Large and clean bathroom in our room which was good. The included breakfast is a hamper of cereal, porridge pots and biscuits/muffin. Which actually was good for us as we were going for an early 3 course lunch on day of checkout so the hamper allowed us some breakfast without being too full. Visit to Hillside Shire Horse Sanctuary and West Runton beach was lovely, both were in walking distance with the beach a short walk down public footpath.

Cons:

Would have been nice to have had a sea view as we were situated over looking to road at the front of the hotel.

Comfortable room but disappointing hygiene facilities ie no soap even at the sink
Pros:

Staff were lovely, room was comfortable and they got me a bar of soap when I asked as there was no hand soap.

Cons:

but disappointed they had no soap or shower gel and toilet was marked. Breakfast was a hamper in the bedroom, I feel this should have been specified in the description as, we probably wouldn’t have stayed if we’d known we couldn’t go downstairs for a breakfast.

Pros:

We enjoyed our stay. The bed was very comfortable. Also the evening meal we had was amazing.

Cons:

We were surprised that the family room was on the top floor it appeared in roof extention. My Husband is tall and found it difficult at times. He could not stand in the shower and also at some places in bedroom. I don't think the shower was very good. It was shower in bath with no shower screen. The water did not stay the same and went from hot to cold all the times. It often went extremely hot. In our booking we had free breakfast, I will admit we were disappointed with the breakfast not what we were expecting. We both felt that it is more an excellent restaurant than a hotel as we had a meal which was amazing. I would highly recommend it as a restaurant. It is fine to stay for short visit however we wouldn't come for longer stay as room was not great.
