Good but quirky!
Pros:

Location, 15 minute walk from Edinburgh Castle. Three minutes from Dean Village. Size of room good, with kitchenette. Beautiful heritage building. Staff were good and helpful.

Cons:

Room was on third floor, 75 steps up so you had to carry luggage all the way up and every time you left and came back another 75 steps. We were on top floor, water stopped sometimes, or we did not have hot water. Could only fill the tub with the shower nozzle, the tub control was broken.

Cons:

The reception is only available during daytime. The phone number provided for after-hours communication does not work at all. Our cards key did not work one night, could not enter the room at all, we sent messages via booking website, and called their after-hours phone numbers, left voice messages, no response at all, and we could not enter the room at all. Worst nightmare, this should not happen to any travelers, basically no support at all. The room inside has some visible molds, the sofa is filthy dirty, the pillows are yellowed and flattened.

Good but quirky!
Pros:

Loved the location as we like to walk, approximately 15 min walk to Edinburgh Castle and all the sights around it. It is about a three minute walk from Dean Village. Our rooms had little kitchenettes and that is why we specifically chose this place. Beautiful Heritage building.

Cons:

We had two different rooms during this stay. One on the top floor, 75 steps up with no elevator. One day was very hot in Scotland so the portable air conditioner did not cut it to keep the room cool as of course heat rises. We had issues with the water on top floor stopping and starting.

Last couple of days they gave us a room on the ground floor which we loved and had no issues with water, heat in the room etc. So nice not to have to climb those stairs every time we went in and out.
