Pros:

After a busy week of non-stop activity in CDMX, this place was perfect for activating “chill mode”. Before arrival the team was very communicative via text. Victor is my hero! - I arrived hours later than expected due to the airport closing its airspace for a few hours. Victor was so understanding and very gracious when I came in late and requested a room change after being unsatisfied with the one I was assigned. The room was massive and absolutely gorgeous with lots of fun colors and accents. Fantastic view from the private balcony, and I was obsessed with the bathroom - separate jetted bathtub and a shower (rainfall showerhead) with windows that opened to the outside. I purposefully sought out a place that was in a more quiet area, and this delivered. There is plenty to do (shopping, dining, sightseeing) within a short 10-minute walk, and the beach about a 15 minute walk, but I spent about 85% of my time in PV at the hotel. Breakfast is available every morning on the second floor - nothing life changing, but did the job. Victor helped me schedule a massage in my room - the masseuse was professional and effective! I spent a lot of time at the rooftop pool with ocean views lounging, reading, enjoying Ivan’s mojitos and Ruben’s margaritas. Also great for a midnight swim! Rooms cleaned daily. The only con I can think of was that I only had hot water 2 of the 4 nights, but it was so sweltering hot that I actually enjoyed taking cold showers, so not really a bad thing I guess. Overall, Rivera del Rio is charming, filled with fun surprises, and was exactly what I needed in a little R&R. Team is so kind and helpful. Would definitely stay again! Oh and you HAVE to watch the sunset from the roof!

Good place to stay while quickl trip to beautiful Puerto vallarte

Wonderful and unique
Pros:

We have stayed at Rivera Del Rio multiple times. We always have a good experience. The decor is unusual and the employees are pleasant and helpful. The colors are cheerful. Every room is different.

I was looking for some downtime and got that in spades . It is not on the beach but a short 20 minute walk.

Nice local restaurants and bars close by as well as the fruit and vegetable market. A property I would definitely recommend come back to . Breakfast was also great and the roof top pool while small, had breathtaking views.

Boutique romantic hotel
Pros:

Staff were fabulous, courteous and helpful. The ambiance and vibe of the hotel had the feel and decor of old world Europe. Very clean and comfortable with tall ceilings and a great view from the balcony and roof top pool and bar of the surrounding area. Walking distance to the Melecon, restaurants and shopping.

Great location on the river. Unique beautiful hotel. Kind friendly staff. I will for sure return.
Pros:

The staff is lovely. The decor is wonderful. The swimming pools fabulous. I love the location on the river. It is quiet, close to the rush of commerce and entertainment, though tucked away.

Cons:

I booked on Booking.com, the Mariposa room, but upon my arrival it was not ready, I was given a different room. I reallllly wanted the Mariposa room. I now understand this is how it works, the room chosen is not guaranteed, when booking with a third party. I did not know before.

This is where you want to stay on your next trip.
Pros:

When you are staying in a hotel while traveling it’s so hard to find the balance between being in a touristic zone and experiencing the local culture.

If you travel a lot like I do you would know how rare it is to find a place that does that.

This hotel does- and for an insane price (especially if you consider the other places around)

This is a boutique hotel not a luxury 5 star hotel and honestly you shouldn’t aspire for anything else if you are really coming to enjoy the culture.

My favorites:
- The rooms - amazing vieww with everything positioned just as it should be to maximize your enjoyment.
- The rooftop pool - the views are insane - and it’s open 24/7 really can’t get better then this.
- Service 10/10 make you feel at home.
- Location is perfect - on the river so it feels like you are escaping the hustle and bustle of the city.
- The rooms are super cool - each one is a bit different- I would splurge and get a more expensive room just as they are very beautiful.

Lastly I would say that every person I met loved everything - from the service to the rooms. So it’s not just me.

110% amazing value for money

I will be back.

Beautiful as always
Pros:

This is our 3rd visit to this hotel. It's always a pleasure. Everything is always wonderful. Cean, friendly, convenient. Love the Emiliano Zapata district. Easy walking distance to many small restaurants around the hotel.

Perfect for our short visit
Pros:

Friendly staff. Hector and Victor were very kind and helpful with check in and check out. Love that they’re conscious of saving energy and resources. Great rooftop pool view and bartender. Walkable distance to restaurants and the beach. Sweet Elizabeth was my favorite part of our stay.

Pros:

The staff was above and beyond. Boutique definitely describes this hotel. It is beautifully decorated with vintage decor. The hotel is located a short 10 min walk down to the Malecan.

Cons:

No coffee maker in the room. Had a beautiful balcony and would have been wonderful to be able to sit outside enjoying my coffee and the morning view.
