I am struggling to find anything! Manager sounded very Helpful on (automated?) messages.
At the time that I booked; there were bar meals. I even studied the menu! I made a Restaurant Reservation but later cancelled it as I had doubts whether my wife and I would feel hungry after the 3 course meal due to portion size (from the pictures).
Having travelled for more than 6 hours in a 1970s Classic Car; at just past 7pm; there was “No Food Whatsoever; available at the hotel”!! We were told to go into town and find our own!!
The top car park was full; and I had to go to the Overflow car park; which was down an Extremely STEEP Incline. My car bottomed out and I damaged my exhaust system!! This car park was Extremely Muddy, trodding on mud!!
The room we got was Absolutely Basic!! I would say it is COMPARABLE to a Travel Lodge!
Upon check in I was told that late check out is £30 for an Hour!!
Nobody Answers the Phone or Bothers to return messages left on Answer-phone!!
We were glad to Leave; Never to Return!! What an Immence DISAPPOINTMENT!!

Comfortable room, good breakfast and friendly helpful staff. The hotel is in a great location and nicely set within its own well maintained grounds and with car parking space.

Only criticism would be about the car parking.
The car park had lots of large holes & as it was raining , they were waterlogged & it was a bit of a muddy walk into the hotel.
The place has an onsite bar and restaurant. The grounds were well kept and was in a good location. The staff were incredible, an asset to the hotel, which made such an impeccable difference to our break - thank you. The food was delicious - we ate at the restaurant the first night for convenience… we returned every night because it was delicious.

We had a lovely stay at Briery Wood Country House Hotel. The hotel is set in a beautiful location in Ambleside, surrounded by stunning grounds.
We stayed in a garden room and the bed was absolutely huge and incredibly comfortable. The room was spotless, as was the bathroom. The shower was lovely and hot, although a little care is needed when stepping out of the bath onto the tiled floor — I did have a little slip!
Breakfast was excellent, with plenty of choice and good gluten-free options. We also had a three-course evening meal at the restaurant, which was wonderful. The food and service made for a really enjoyable evening.
The staff were very attentive and friendly, and I particularly liked the fact that everyone greeted you as you walked around the hotel. It was such a small touch but made the atmosphere feel very welcoming.
At £225.99 for a three-course evening meal, bed and breakfast, we thought this was exceptional value for money. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay and a lovely way to finish our trip.
There was very little to dislike about our stay.
The only thing worth mentioning is to take care when getting out of the bath after using the shower, as the tiled floor can be slippery. I had a little slip, although thankfully I wasn't hurt.
Other than that, we couldn't fault our stay.
Staff were lovely and very welcoming. Breakfast were fabulous especially the Salmon and Eggs. Room was fabulous and lovely size. Dinner was great and very tasty. Really enjoyed my stay. Would recommend to others. Good parking. Check in and out was easy.
It was all good .But the wi-fi in the room was poor
Just the WiFi signal in the room being poor.
It was a lovely hotel and very dog friendly. A dog welcome pack was provided but the green chews made my dogs poo bright green ! I informed the staff and asked that they withdraw them from the dog packs in future
The evening meal was like a school dinner and they tried to charge me for drinks I didn't have
Beautiful setting between Ambleside and Windermere. Couldn't speak more highly of the staff - very attentive and welcoming to us both (and the dog!!)

Found the staff helpful, polite attentive and engaging, and an asset to the establishment, Dinner in the restaurant was excellent, and breakfast was also great. Had a Garden Room with a lovely view. The room was nicely appointed, comfortable and very clean. Wifi worked well. I'd willingly recommend and would certainly stay there again.
There was nothing that caused me any concerns.
