Koh Ma Beach Resort

Unfortunately, there is a long term resident who lives in one of the beachfront villas. She is extremely rude, loud and uses drugs. We were there 8 days and for the entire time she would play loud music on her balcony, swear and shout at others (including our children) and appeared very manic. It’s unfortunate, as other than her it is a very family friendly location.

El personal era eficiente y funcional pero no esperes una sonrisa de parte del personal como en el resto del país, son muy parcos, quizás están hartos del turismo o no sé a qué se debe. Por ejemplo en el bar de la playa intentamos alquilar un equipo para hacer snorkel y me pedían 700 baths por día, cuando en cualquier otro lugar de la isla el precio medio es de 150 baths, un sin sentido y un timo total.

A number of the staff were rude, stroppy and service was poor. In the restaurant we were made to feel unwelcome, it took forever to order and often the wrong food was delivered or items from the order forgotten. The only exception was Yeye who worked in the evenings and wanted to chat and share a joke. The lady on reception was really rude, no welcome, just a demand for our taxi fare and key deposit.

En revanche 9 ans plus tard tout est devenu vétuste : literie déchiré, les savons pas remplis et avant c’était de beaux produits maintenant on voit que les bouteilles datent elles même d’il y a 10 ans et n’ont pas été changées.
Le personnel peut aimable mais pour le peu d’échange que nous avons eu cela convenait.
La piscine, qui n’existait pas à l’époque, était occupé par les résidents et non résidents avec des transats mais peu de nettoyage effectué après le passage des gens : état vraiment salle y compris la piscine plus troublé qu’autre chose.

The rooms are quite dated, and our room door only opened halfway because it caught on the floor tiles. No smart tv. The restaurant food was average. The beach has coarse sand rather than soft sand, and we were disappointed that it wasn’t possible to snorkel from the beach during our four-night stay because the tide was too low throughout.

Le personnel n’étaient pas des plus agréables, l’établissement est un peu excentré des commodités mais faisable en soit en scooter

Las camas son súper duras, les pedí que si podían hacer algo, porque teníamos tres noches pagadas, y me pusieron unas bajeras que algo ayudaron, pero aún así seguían siendo unos camas muy duras. La habitación tiene el tamaño justito pero una buena terraza. La habitación es oscura porque tiene las palmeras muy pegadas y muy altas. No tienes la sensación de estar en la playa porque hay demasiado cemento.

Reception staff & some restaurant staff were indifferent. Not rude just not interested to be honest. In saying that some of the restaurant staff were lovely, engaging & helpful people. Not a lot of restaurants in the area but we managed to find a couple.
I think this resort could be great but the grounds need a big effort to keep everything well maintained & manicured.
