Overall experience is bad. We booked our room through Booking.com and specifically selected a Superior Room with City View. However, upon arrival, we were allocated Room 1413, which was quite small and did not have a city view as advertised. Instead, the view was mainly of surrounding buildings.
We were hoping for a memorable experience for our daughter, but unfortunately the stay did not meet our expectations. To make matters worse, there was visible mould in the shower (photos attached), which is very concerning and not something we would expect from a 5-star hotel.
Just before our check-out day, we noticed Room 1412, which appeared to have the type of view and room layout we had originally expected. When we spoke with reception, a staff member advised that our room actually had a better view and that many other rooms only faced nearby buildings that were very close to the windows. However, based on what we observed, we were not convinced this was the case.
We feel that because we booked through a third-party provider, we may not have been prioritised for a better room, while more desirable rooms were potentially reserved for guests who booked directly with the hotel. Whether or not this was the case, it certainly left us with that impression.
I would like to acknowledge that the service provided by the staff was generally good, and everyone we interacted with was helpful and polite. Unfortunately, despite the positive service, the overall experience was disappointing due to the room allocation, lack of the advertised view, and the cleanliness concerns.
If you are planning to stay in Sheraton, Melbourne is not the place.

Pros:

Stayed here to visit the Australian ballet sleeping beauty
The theatre was only a small walk
We caught the free tram home which was directly around the corner

Lives up to the reputation of 5 star
Pros:

Very clean and spacious and lives up to the 5 star rating.
Central to the cbd so convenient location.

Cons:

The only downside was the shower head.
For some reason whenever pushed it towards the hot side the water goes super little the volume so had to have a cold most of the time.

Cons:

But my friend had flown in from QLD and we had no view just a brick wall for the price very disappointing. Also the tv didn’t work, I tried calling reception several times and no answer.
