Looking forward to returning.
Pros:

Beautiful furniture made of oak. Very kind and helpful staff. Exceptional full English breakfast. Ideal for dogs as next to the Swale way so you can walk into Thirsk mainly along the river.

Room great, parking very good . Evening meal in pub was first class, but £10.95 for a glass of wine not good

Room was really nice. Shower was great and all very clean. Breakfast not the best I’ve had

Cons:

Just breakfast, the egg and salmon was excellent. My English breakfast egg was over cooked and mushroom weren’t cooked. Cheap bread

A real gem and a credit to the owners and the staff
Pros:

Refreshingly varied evening menu with a wide choice of speciality dishes as well as traditional pub favourites, good portions too.
Also great was the 'proper' northern Theakstons bitter. Beautifully pulled and a real treat.
Breakfast was freshly cooked and delicious
Cabin room was great, very spacious, comfy bed and a lovely shower

Excellent Location and Pleasant Staff
Pros:

Excellent location near A19 and A1. The quiet village location and parking are good. The staff are very pleasant and have a ‘can do attitude’ with a smile. The food served is very tasty. I would definitely stay again.

Overall a lovely stay.
Pros:

The room was away from the main pub and so was very quiet.

There was tea, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits and water in the room, which were replenished, as well as a reasonably sized fridge, which was very useful in the hot weather, and for the items we were taking to a barbeque we were attending on the first evening.

The room was comfortable and clean, and there was complimentary shower gel/shampoo. There was also a sofa in the room.

The owners were friendly and helpful, and were more than apologetic when the hair dryer broke, providing a new one.

We wished that we could have tried the delicious looking food that they served, but this was not an option for us as we were attending a wedding and didn't need food. The Yorkshire breakfast was excellent, with good quality ingredients.

Cons:

Although a good powerful shower. After we had both had showers the bathroom was very steamy and the fan struggled to remove it, a small detail, but it was hot weather and it also made the room warmer. This would not stop us from going to this hotel again.

The pub closed early, so we couldn't get a drink after 10pm.

Overall the stay was excellent and we had very little to complain about.

Would highly recommend the old oak tree. Good all round.
Pros:

Very good breakfast. Good choice available for breakfast and flexibility. Location for the break was fine. Bedrooms were lovely, spacious and modern.

Cons:

Not sure really. There wasn't anything I didn't like.

We went for Thirsk racers after racers we came back and sat outside weather was hot had a great time
