Pleasantly Surprised!
Pros:

Loved the location, loved the pool, rooms were very small but actually pretty dang good and well designed. Nice enough bathrooms, hard wood floors (so nice to not be disgusting carpet). Decor was simple but tasteful and updated. Emphasis on simple but I was pleasantly surprised and will definitely stay here again. OH, and the coffee shop DUNE in the strip mall right in front has AMAZING coffee, great breakfast stuff and absolutley adorable to hang out in if you need to get some computer work done.

Cons:

Price. This should have been a $150-$175 room, otherwise I would've scored it higher. For this particular weekend, it was $288!!! for Motel 6?!? no guys.... not quite... and i get that it's a summer weekend in Santa Barbara but that is way too expensive for a Motel 6. You can stay at a much nicer property for the same price or $50 more with a little hunting. Too bad they price gauge for popular weekends... but alas, it was a decent stay so no complaints otherwise.

It was not enjoyable to have to stay there due to the lack of cleanliness.

The room was dirty, small, smelly of an unclean nature, lacking in ameneties, noisy and had a breeze blowing under and all through the entry door as it had big gaps all around it. The bed top linen was disgustingly stained. Comparatively priced hotels in the same area that I have stayed at before are twice as nice. I travel about two to three months a year and I have never stayed anywhere in any country that was as bad as this. It was recomended to me as being OK dispite my own reservations.

Housecleaning like my ex husband cleaned it!

Cons:

Room wasn’t big enough for 2 full beds. Air conditioning literally touched the bed. The electrical outlets didn’t work. To charge the phone I had to unplug the tv. To use the microwave, I had to unplug the refrigerator. The bathroom tub had a sewage smelling gas coming from the drain. It looked like the used a plug to plug it up. When you unplug it. the plug was covered in black mold. The floors and the furniture were filthy . I understand this is a discount motel but I did pay to stay and they did have maids that worked there but evidently they need to be trained how to clean! Also that sewage smelling gas coming was absolutely disgusting and never should have rented that room until that is fixed. The parking lot was too small for the amount of rooms. I had to park in the bowling alley next door and worry about the car rental getting towed or broken in to.

OK if desperate.
Pros:

Very basic motel. No coffee machine in the room. We had difficulty even getting to watch TV. They need to leave instructions on how to use the remote. We'd asked for at least a king bed or 2 queens and ended up with just one queen. There is coffee if you go outside. Seems like a place to just stop in if you have an early or late flight.
