Absolutely loved staying here, fantastic location and the staff just couldn’t do enough for us!
For my friends birthday they decorated the room, surprised her with a gift from fortnum and mason and a lovely card. We woke up with fresh tea and biscuits outside the room on a morning. Such friendly staff, fabulous room and excellent location. Will definitely be returning. Thankyou
We had booked an apartment opposite a park to get a quiet location and at an address close to the train station as we traveled by train. The booking confirmation stated that the apartment would be at the chosen address but that check-in would take place at another nearby address. Once we checked in, the accommodation informed us that the apartment was at a completely different address at a busy street intersection and significantly further away from the train station than we had booked. The staff came up with one excuse after another that the address was not correct.
According to the information on booking.com, the apartment was supposed to be soundproofed but was very responsive. It was possible to hear people on the street outside talking.
According to the information, the apartment was supposed to have a dining table, but there was no such thing. The kitchen was equipped with a stove with oven and dishwasher but lacked kitchen equipment except for three wooden spoons. This is even though kitchen equipment should be available according to the information on Booking.com
The cleaning was substandard with dust and rubbish from previous tenants on the floor.
Location, room size, staff behaviour and amenities.
I normally stay at the Roxky 1 in the small room, so I was pleasantly surprised to find a fantastic sized bathroom and shower. The room itself was surprisingly large and comfortable. The aircon was a welcome addition.
It got quite noisy around 7am with doors banging and creaky stairs. To be expected so close to St Pancras Kings Cross.
There was no Internet. In the past at Roxky 1 I would get a server name and password with the door code email. There was nothing for this room.
Owners rep was positive and helpful
It was a warm day but the room was a hot box that did not cool. The fan did not shift air. Needs replacing.
Attention to detail excellent
No hot water in sink
I didn't like anything
It was a bad experience, the room was too small, it was in a building isolated from the reception, breakfast was a tray left on the door with two packaged biscuits
location
small bathroom
The location was good for Kings Cross station, although the park opposite was full of drug users hanging around. Nonetheless, we decided felt safe enough.
The communication from the owners beforehand was good.
They left a gift in the room (jar of jam)and some water & drinks in the fridge.
The room was very tired looking and grubby. It probably looked good when it was first decorated but now it has chipped paint, stained carpets and was very grubby - everywhere was dusty, an old chocolate left on the floor was still there even though they supposedly cleaned the room during our stay, the toilet was dirty & looked to be leaking and the sink was stained.
The floor lamp couldn’t stand unsupported. There was a large tv but no remote control.
The bathroom was in a lower basement without adequate ventilation and after the first shower it remained wet during the whole of our stay.
We stayed during a very hot spell and despite promises that there were fans in the room, we were told they had none.
Leaving the window open was a concern as it was at street level & easily accessible - given the people hanging around outside it didn’t feel very secure.
The bed was supposed to be a king size but was more like a double - a bit of a squeeze, especially in hot weather.
We were relived when we checked out.
Location
The room was very very small and not well ventilated. Decor falling off the wall. Room was difficult to manoeuvre round with how small it was and tea/coffee facilities unusable tucked under a shelf due to room size. No large towel left (only hand towel) so unable to shower. Felt the owners could have done more to offer an alternate room considering the circumstances. Never heard back following complaint. Would avoid staying again.
Great location - funky vibe
Nothing!
Tolle Lage, sehr nettes Personal, sauber, sehr persönlich, kleines präsent , kühle Getränke und Schoki zur Ankunft
Soon as you walk in it has an excellent welcoming vibe. One of the staff spotted us on the road as we were about confused as to where the Hotel was. He was so nice and showed us to our room. Our room was a crash pad. Compact but perfect. Decorated lovely and a space for everything. No wardrobe but a small space with hangers. Bathroom is small but so clean and modern. Best crash pad I've stayed in. We had a cucumber sandwich and a gift left for us when we arrived with a personalised note and in the morning a pot of tea and biscuits was left outside our door. Personal touches were so thoughtful. Our stay was for 2 nights but we were out each day from 9 - 23.00 so the room literally was our crash pad. Minutes away from St Pancras and close to transport. We walked to Theatre land which took us about 40 mins but tube is close by . Book here you'll be pleasantly surprised!
Nothing.
The room was optimized for space.
Focused on little touches (though they were unnecessary) and not on the basics
Too many steps, and they were treacherous
I didn't need the cucumber sandwich - was kind of gross sitting out
The bathroom I kept tripping going into it
No a/c
No plug adaptor for US or EU
Poor wireless connection
