The room was perfect nice and comfortable a very large bathroom
Sadly it was the carvery the beef was dry
The breakfast was good but the bacon was also very dry.

This seems a strange thing to complain about, but on my second evening the main course at dinner was far more than I could eat! It was called an "open beef sandwich" and I thought "sandwich" implied a light meal. I had to leave about 3/4 of it, which I was sorry about as it was excellent. Maybe the menu should clarify what's meant by "sandwich".

Large spacious clean room. Comfortable bed nice and quiet, so had a good nights sleep. breakfast was sumptuous. The waitress in the morning was brilliant. She really looked after us, an absolute credit to the Down Inn.

Unfortunately we arrived when it was super hot so as soon as we where shown to our room the heat hit us they did have a fan which wasn't any good as it just circled the hot air
If they had thought a head and closed the curtains it might have made it slightly better
I appreciate that the building is old which I liked but as soon as anyone walked on the bathroom floor it made a terrible noise so hence we didn't sleep.
