Pros:

It was in good location, easy access to the main places, Oban is nice. And I had a very good breakfast with a beautiful view, the room was very comfortable and my key was inside of a good envelope beautifully written. It is the first time I had this..I could leave my bags before the check in time so I could walk a bit and exploring more Oban.

Cons:

The lady (I think is the owner or Manager) when I arrived after my walk I went to the Bar and I asked her where was the breakfast place. She replied "in the morning you will see". Why couldn't just say "is there"? So I wouldn't bother. The moment I told her I wanted a Pimm's or one simple drink because I was happy and I wanted in that moment one simple drink, she just said "go for your walk and when you come back I will give you the drink". Like if I was a child or I could only have a drink when she wanted. I felt occured and I just left the place sad and I wanted to go for my walk. If I wanted why she refused? Rude. And the day I left there were nobody to say anything or goodbye. She just said to leave the keys in the same place I found. Really strange. No nice welcoming neither if I enjoyed and I didn't have the right to enjoy a bit of time to seat comfortable to have a drink. The next say I figured out where was the breakfast and I just eat. Apart of that, I wanted to take a shower and I couldn't because the shower plaque was broken and nobody told me anything and because I had this episode I just wanted to leave.

All pretty good
Pros:

Clean and comfortable. Location convenient to train and ferry. Mattress pretty stiff. We were out for early ferry, so not sure about breakfast.

A fantastic little hotel
Pros:

A fantastic little hotel in a charming old building. The room was decorated in a lovely way and was very cozy. It was cleaned to perfection. The young man doing housekeeping was also extremely nice and service-minded.

Close to ferries, for better or for worse.
Pros:

Very conveniently located close to ferry terminal. Five minute walk to ferry terminal and very close to lots of shops and the main streets of Oban. Kind and helpful staff. Had the basics we needed.

Cons:

There was quite a bit of noise from the ferry announcements and trains on occasion, but we turned on brown noise and were able to sleep fine. No noise in the middle of the night that we noticed.

It was very close to the train, ferry and Main Street. The room was beyond expectations with great views to the ferry and a little kitchen

Cons:

Ho preso 3 camere, la mia era sufficientemente calda. Le altre due sarebbe stato meglio qualche grado in più.
L'ultima notte c'è stato un problema con una camera: la direzione ha saputo gestire il problema. Ottimo.

No frills but fine
Pros:

Room was larger and brighter than our other stays in Scotland, and nice and clean. A well lit mirror for shaving and make-up was another positive. It's an old building but rooms look recently painted and furnished. Easy 3 minute walk to trains, buses and ferries. The breakfast was quite good value but just open for an hour and we preferred the porridge at nearby Coast Cafe. There's a cozy lounge bar with games and books.

Cons:

We were prepared for the stairs. Check out was a bit early at 10am. The luggage storage is in an open hallway, so not secure if that worries you.
