Very cool hotel. Lots of rooms, we booked two different ones a loft suite and 2 queen room. Both were nice. Great views in loft suite of East and West with lake view. Balcony on entrance floor.
The only thing that would scare me would be mid summer heat and no air conditioners. TV’s don’t work very well ( Very fuzzy snowy pictures ) as I think the hotel is fed off one coax cable and split 200 times.
Comfortable room. Awesome View and the best Location!
The grounds and the ghost town where fantastic
The halls can be a bit confusing
Absolutely LOVED our stay here! There was so much to see and do and the ghost town was much more of an immersive museum than expected. My kids also loved the sand pit area and the ship playground as well as the train ride! The rooms and building itself were clean and comfortable. The rooms were a good size and the view was spectacular! We will definitely be making our way back for another trip soon. The staff were all very friendly and polite. 10/10 would definitely recommend for a family trip to remember!
We were a little confused with the cafeteria didn't know were to go and how to get things that weren't out and was listed on the back bored but other then that good
The fitted sheet was to small and would just keep coming up
The history of the Chateau plus the ghost town adjacent made it a chef kiss of a place to stay
Just needs more places to sit and lounge in the garden.
The front desk staff was amazing. Friendly, easy check in and out process. All in all it was great.
The restaurant as a whole, was at best - mediocre. The evening staff for dinner was, sad. We were greeted with an "I'll be right with you", which she never did. Another young woman seated us at a table, that she openly debated with herself which one to put us at. The table was wiped down with a sopping cloth and therefore I couldn't put my arm or bag on it. She put a coloring page for my son, instantly soaked. Said we'd get some colors, and they never arrived. Our waiter, Beau(i think that's what was on the bill, he never gave us his name) appeared bored, and like we were an inconvenience. The food was expensive for lackluster meal. I asked for no tomato or onion, but also got no lettuce on my burger. Which was a frozen grocery store patty and a handful of fries for $20.
I was optimistic that maybe this was just a rough night for them, but breakfast was just as garbage. No one offered my kid a booster seat either time, I had to get it myself. The shredded hasbrowns were undercooked, the sausages were bland and unseasoned. There was so much butter on the toast it was running off. And again, this was a $20 meal. Both times when asked how it was going, it wasn't even a question. It was "everything is OK here, right?" Maybe the garbage food would've been better if the service was top notch, but it just left a lot to be desired.
I thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful view from the balcony attached to our room. You get such a beautiful view of the lake.
I also had so much fun venturing through time exploring the museum on site. Would definitely stay here again!
View, location
Location was incredible and over all it felt like its own little world while we stayed. The bathroom was also the cleanest I’ve ever seen for a hotel room! Beds were super comfortable too. My husband and I loved that each room had a balcony so that we could “sneak away” at night to hangout while the kids slept without disturbing them.
Truly the only downfall was how hot the room got! However that’s our own fault for booking during a heat wave. Would love to visit in the fall!
Location
Food and service terrible in restaurant.
