Friendly staff. Clean but old fashioned
The location was excellent, breakfast was good and served by friendly staff. Parking was available at the hotel.
Although we had ‘executive’ rooms there was no mini bar or fridge. The rooms were extremely hot and humid (I realise the weather was very hot during our stay and the hotel has no control over that) and although a fan was supplied it was insufficient. Outside the rooms it was a fair bit cooler.
Great location.
Constant sound of running water outside the window. Found it hard to get to sleep. Reported to front desk who said they would send someone up to the room to investigate but no one came. Reported at reception but not interested. We thought the price was too good to be true as it was reasonable for Harrogate but obviously the noise in the room is probably why along with tired decor and furnishings The breakfast was very mediocre-the atmosphere was canteen like no frills, one coffee machine out of order and huge queue for the working one. Not special in any way or form.
The building is spectacular and the staff we spoke to were very helpful.
Ideally situated for walking to town (up hill walk about 5mins)
We stayed for 4 nights using it as a base to go to surrounding places via train.
The room we had was small and very tired. Needed redecorating . TV didn't work on arrival but someone was quick to fix this. The laminate on the furniture was bubbling in places. Bath surround was pealing and toilet roll was very cheap and thin.
Beautiful interior, excellent customer service, polite helpful staff. Easy parking facilities and access to room.
