We stayed in this hotel twice - before and after walking the West Highland Way (total of 5 nights). We loved this hotel. Why?
1. Energetic, friendly and always helpful staff.
2. Large comfortable and very clean room.
3. Great location away from the crowded touristy areas, but yet close enough that we generally walked to many of the attractions. The wonderful Royal Botanic Garden is nearby.
4. The breakfasts were delicious as were the dinners we had at the restaurant.
5. The hotel bar (and outdoor spaces) seems to be a gathering spot for neighborhood professionals. Good vibe - even for us older folks.😉. We enjoyed having a drink after a day of exploring.
We hope to be back!
We had an absolutely wonderful stay here. The staff made us feel so welcome with their warmth and kindness. The breakfast deserves a special mention — fresh, delicious, and the perfect start to each day. We also dined there in the evening and were really impressed by the quality of the food; everything was locally sourced, beautifully prepared, and absolutely delicious. A truly memorable stay, and we would happily return and highly recommend it to others.
Lindsey the GM was great and always available. Great facilities and food/drinks. Fun vibe and clientele. Refurbished old manor house was very well done.
Incredible location, great sized rooms. Breakfast was included in our rate and impeccable
This was probably the best hotel i have stayed at in europe as a whole. The room was very spacious and had a soaking tub for the wife and a bar that was obviously a local hang out. the Breakfast offered was amazing as well as the entire staff
Booked this place for a solo trip and honestly couldn't fault it. The whole hotel was spotless from top to bottom, and you could tell the team actually cared rather than just going through the motions.
The staff were the highlight — friendly, attentive, and happy to help without being in your face. The folk behind the bar were a good laugh and really attentive too.
Great location, easy to get around from here, and the food was genuinely good — not just hotel-standard but properly enjoyable. The room was comfortable and quiet — no noise to speak of, which made for a proper good sleep — and great value for what you pay.
Travelling on my own, I really appreciated how easy and welcoming the whole experience was. Wouldn't hesitate to come back, which I will, and happy to recommend it to anyone heading this way.
Stayed a few years ago and it was great but now its fantastic, great food atmosphere and staff. Highly recommended
This hotel was superbly comfortable, our room was beautiful and very spacious. The bar and restaurant was vibrant and fun but our bedroom was peaceful on the second floor. The staff were very helpful and friendly. I would really recommend the Raeburn In Stockbridge.
We had an absolutely wonderful stay at The Raeburn and can’t recommend it highly enough.
From the moment we arrived, every member of staff made us feel incredibly welcome and well looked after. The atmosphere throughout the hotel is warm, relaxed, and beautifully done, with so much attention to detail.
The room was amazing, beautiful decor and spotlessly clean. The food and drinks were excellent, and the service was exceptional throughout our stay. Nothing felt too much trouble, and it’s clear the whole team genuinely care about creating a special experience for guests.
It’s clearly a popular place for people to socialise and gets really busy but the atmosphere was fab! When you’re done for the night you cannot hear a thing when in the room which is perfect!
The local area is lovely, lots of quaint shops, cafes and bars with a gorgeous market on a Sunday. Plus, on a nice day it’s a nice walk into the city.
A huge thank you to everyone at The Raeburn for making our trip to Edinburgh so memorable. We’ll definitely be back!
Amazing food and service. Went for my Daughters birthday. Beautiful space and friendly staff. The GM was very attentive and everyone made us feel special.
Thank you for looking after us.
Would highly recommend and we look forward to coming back.
We have dined at The Raeburn many times when visiting Edinburgh and this was our first overnight stay. Our room was charming, thoughtfully decorated, spotlessly clean and roomy for a standard double. The walk in shower had great water pressure and water temperature and the breakfast was epic! I had the Mushroom Strata which was quite frankly one of the tastiest things I have been served for breakfast in a hotel for a very long time. All the staff were cheery and helpful and we will definitely be back!
I booked two nights at The Raeburn as a treat for myself before spending the rest of the week elsewhere with colleagues (flew in from the US for work stuff). I am sooo happy that i did! I am always expecting to be a little catfished by boutique hotels, but The Raeburn exceeded my expectations.
Gorgeous, clean room and bathroom. I looked for excuses to stay in my room, it was so vibey. Excellent food (did 3 breakfasts and 1 dinner there). Kind and helpful staff. I also loved the location- it was my first time in Edinburgh, and being stationed in Stockbridge was great. I loved being so close to the Water of Leith Walkway, which i stumbled upon by chance. It was easy enough to walk into Old Town and see the sites, but there’s also a bus stop nearby if you’re not into long walks.
The only negative (which wasn’t that bad for me) was that my room was right above the outdoor seating area, and they didn’t turn off the (fairly loud) music until like 11:45pm on Sunday night. There didn’t seem to be music on Monday night.
I will definitely be staying at The Raeburn again if i return to Edinburgh!
The staff at The Raeburn are amazing. All super friendly and willing to help.
The property is in a great location, and walking distance to good pubs and restaurants.
The place was centrally located with an amazing atmosphere. The room was spacious, and the shower was incredible. The service, the food, and all the staff were truly five-star. The food was so good there was honestly no reason to leave the hotel. The scones and the almond croissant were absolutely out of this world. And the front desk representative, Catherine, was the best of the best. We would absolutely recommend this hotel to our friends, family, and anyone planning to stay in Edinburgh!

My wife and I had a very lovely stay at The Raeburn. We were there for 4 nights on the tail end of our Scotland holiday and wished we could've stayed longer. One of the best chic hotels we've ever stayed at, and the best stay we had in our first trip to Edinburgh. Staff was very attentive and helpful, and the breakfast was very good! We didn't try the dinner there so I can't speak on that but I would make reservations because it's a very popular place, was bustling every night we were there. It was also very nice being in the Stockbridge district, loads of good food around and away from the main tourist attractions.
Shoutout to Lyndsey for being super helpful on arrival as well as when there was an errant charge on my card. Thanks!
We wanted to visit the Botanic Gardens and have a night away in Edinburgh so booked The Raeburn. The weather was great so we enjoyed sitting in the sun with a glass of wine before a delicious dinner in the restaurant. The bar was really busy which made for a great atmosphere. Our room was large and very clean with lots of extras and a comfortable bed. The shower room was large and modern with lovely toiletries. Breakfast was great too.
All of the staff were so friendly and helpful, they also made sure we were able to get one of their parking spaces which was really handy. Would definitely return.
We had an awesome stay at the Raeburn and can’t wait to return!! Such hospitality and thoughtful service. Loved our room, loved the food downstairs. All of it was A++
We returned again for a Sunday night stay with our daughter, taking 2 of the deluxe rooms. We luckily got a parking space again which was great. All the staff, as always, were just brilliant. The breakfasts were superb and the atmosphere in the bar was just what we wanted. We ate out in the evening as there was a limited choice for my vegetarian daughter, but there’s lots of other restaurants nearby in Stockbridge.
We’ve stayed in other hotels in Edinburgh but The Raeburn has a feel good factor that you don’t generally get in the bigger corporate hotels. We’ll be back again for sure!
