Excellent location, modern and spacious rooms, and very friendly staff made this a very enjoyable stay overall.
Pros:

We had a very pleasant stay at Courtyard by Marriott Buffalo Downtown/Canalside. We really liked the location of the hotel, which is convenient for exploring the area, as well as the fact that it offers onsite parking (even if it is not free).

The rooms were spacious, modern, and clean, and overall the hotel has a modern feel. The staff was always friendly and helpful, which made the stay even more enjoyable.

Cons:

As small downsides, the shower only had the fixed ceiling-mounted shower head without a movable option, and the WiFi quality was rather poor at times (although this seems to be common in many US hotels).

Works for a few days.
Pros:

Honestly, I didn't do my homework on Marriott hotels in the downtown Buffalo area. However, after checking in, I noticed a large Marriott nearby. Courtyard is my least favorite hotel in the group, but since my colleagues chose it, I made the reservation. Here is why I rated it a 3:

1. No option to pick points or get a breakfast food & beverage credit. The points option was selected for my stay. Honestly, 1000 points is completely useless. I would have preferred a coffee.
2. Couldn't connect to the Wi-Fi in the room and had to go downstairs to the lobby. Not a big deal since I was only staying two nights.
3. The room was super clean and comfy, but the bed had seen a lot of stays.

That said, the staff was very nice. Shout out to Joanne, Assistant GM, for the nice e-mail response to my concerns.

By the way, the restaurant at the Marriott across the street is famous. Their seafood pasta was incredible. Next time, I would stay at the Marriott.

I won’t ever be going back
Cons:

First off it was way too expensive for a small 1 bed room, we also had to pay for parking there wasn’t a continental breakfast and the TV didn’t work. Lastly there was someone above us that was pounding on the floor for almost 2hrs. I called the front desk and nothing ever happened. I will not be staying at your hotel ever again.

Welcoming, friendly staff and clean and spacious room!
Pros:

From the moment we arrived we were welcomed like part of the family. The lady at the front desk greeted us with such genuine enthusiasm, she kindly upgraded our room and gave us water and some chocolates. She was so friendly with my 3 year old son, and even gifted him a cuddly buffalo toy which was a really thoughtful gesture which meant a lot. Our room was excellent: large, clean and very modern. There were 2 separate TVs which is ideal when travelling with a toddler! The beds were large and comfortable, the bathroom was clean and the toiletries were lovely with eucalyptus and lavender - it felt like a spa! The bar serves Starbucks coffee which is a nice touch! Very impressed with this hotel and would certainly recommend if staying in this area.
