Die Unterkunft haben wir als Zwischenstop zwischen Monterey und Los Angeles gebucht da wir unbedingt den Highway 1 South fahren wollten.
This hotel was ok for a one or two night stay. The rooms were clean & kept up, beds were fairly comfortable, microwave & refrigerator in room, no extra amenities, but they did have TV & free wi fi. It is very close driving distance to beach.
The parking lot is not kept up well & is very trashy. It makes you feel like you are in a very bad part of town & feels not safe to leave car over night. The outside of the hotel is also not maintained as well as it could be, run down looking. Not all nice like the advertising picture.

Incredible traffic noise was bad. My room (220) shook when a truck went by on the 101. I turned on whale noises on my laptop at full volume. I could still hear traffic. I asked if I could have a different room for the second night and was turned down.
Close to family and perfect for a one night stay.
Water from the faucets came out slowly. Mentioned to the manager that there might be a clog in the filter.
I needed a room to crash right before the Mountains 2 Beach Marathon, and booked the room wayyyyy in advance. At that point it was about $100/night which is great for that weekend-- less than other places but I noticed the reviews were mixed on the property. The price at the time was good, and location was perfect for getting the shuttle to Ojai.
About a month after booking, I got a call from the owner saying that the price online had been incorrect, and would I be willing to pay more. A bit confused, I asked why, if I booked a particular price, I would elect to pay more? Long story short, I think they realized the marathon was happening and wanted to increase the price and it wasn't reflected (yet?) on booking.com. I said that I only wanted to stay for that price, and wouldn't be volunteering to pay double. Thankfully, they didn't cancel my room, and did honor the price I had booked.
That said-- I would have been totally aghast at paying more than 100 for this room. Dust bunnies, creaky beds, a comforter that was ripped, the smoke detector was missing, a plastic bag over the carbon monoxide detector, rust on the bottom door of the bathroom, plaster falling off the walls in the bathroom... man, it was rough. So much so that my husband and I agreed we'd skip showering (and have the kids skip a shower) and just get clean at home. That's right-- we thought we'd be dirtier showering here than heading home with an evening-full of sand in the kids hair from the beach.
Good the food was hot n plentiful people were friendly
