The staff's friendly, helpful and professional nature stood out during our stay at this centrally located hotel in Reykjavik. Despite being on the main shopping street Laugavegur, this caused no issues like noise, etc. All the sights are within 15 minutes walking distance.
Whilst comfortable and clean, the room was very small with limited hanging and storage space.
Breakfasts were good with various options.
Overall, this is a good base for exploring the city.
One of the best hotel in Reykjavik, great location (near the bus stop 9), nice and professional staff.
The hotel is conveniently located to many shops and places to grab a bite or a coffee. It is very close to the local supermarket, Bonus, and is only a few blocks from a bus stop. There is a Starbucks adjacent to the hotel (the first in Iceland!) with some seating. The hotel provides free water via a cooler in the lobby and I enjoyed filling up my water bottle daily. The staff was friendly and quite helpful. Guests are provided with a special cell phone which can be used for directions or for finding restaurants/attractions when you are outside of the hotel. The room was very nice although, as previously mentioned, the balcony outside the room is public to hotel guests so discretion should be used when opening the drapes or keeping the door open.
We have been there before but now we got terrible service and we will not be back.
Good location close walk to mostly everything
We loved our stay here - the location was perfect for exploring Reykjavik - lots of restaurants and shops to walk to. Rooms were comfortable - good size, with space for a couch and extra chair in the room; beds were comfortable and the breakfast options (fruit, cheese, eggs, juices) were a great way to start the day. Note this is not a luxury hotel but very comfortable, clean and pleasant.
We loved the location in the centre of downtown Reykjavik. The room was large and very comfortable. It was super clean and had good facilities - a coffee maker with pods, a small fridge, good shampoo, body wash and body milk. There were bathrobes and a blanket. The decor was natural and relaxing.
Staff were outstanding - they were very helpful. The breakfast has an excellent selection of options meaning there was something for everyone! The bread was worth a mention - so fresh and delicious!
We liked everything! There was nothing to dislike!
The room was quite large, and in a good location at the end of the busiest part of the main walking street. I liked this because it meant that the hotel was quieter at night as compared to some of the hotels that are closer to the main shopping area. The other thing that was completely unexpected and I had never experienced before was that the hotel provided me with a complimentary cell phone loaded with data that I could use any time I wanted on my trip if I didn't want to use my own phone. I couldn't believe it! I also loved that they had a water station next to the elevator with SELTZER water for free! This was AWESOME!
The doors didn't seem to be very thick, so I could hear noise coming through them any time someone went down the hall. Fortunately, I was at the end of the hall, so this wasn't a huge problem.
Location and amenities
The shower
Centrally located, near the bus stop pick up and drop off for several tours and the airport flybus. Lovely and clean. Definitely minimalist in keeping with a hotel in the Nordic countries. A relatively large room for the price in Iceland.
The room was extremely warm and opening the window didn't really help. I think this was due to the constant sun and potentially facing south meant the room was naturally heated all day. Probably great in winter!
Excellent location on the main shopping street.
Overpriced for a basic room and bathroom.
