The only criticism I have is that I found some of the staff to be quite rude, particularly some of the reception team, who could have been more polite. I accidentally left a room card in my room, and when I went to reception the staff member seemed annoyed and made a point of saying he would have to cancel all the cards. His tone made it clear he wasn’t happy about it. When we checked out, there was no “thank you” and they didn’t even ask how our stay had been. I also asked for a luggage room key, and the first thing I was told was that they would need it straight back!! again, not said in a polite or friendly way. Overall, the lack of courtesy from some of the reception staff really let the experience down.

A smart looking hotel with great views and nice size pools and very clean, cleaners work tirelessly all day throughout the hotel.
Just arrived home after a weeks stay the GC Princess.
The good things: the location is good if you want easy walking access to the jumbo centre and beach, there’s also plenty of very nice restaurants near by which you’ll need if you’re staying here. The hotel is clean and will be well presented when the building work is finished.
Now the bad. The food is awful, look warm or cold swimming in oil and often undercooked.
On the two occasions I ate in the restaurant the meat I picked up was undercooked still being pink in the middle one time was pork chops and one time chicken. The general buffet consists of lots of side dishes, either pasta, rice, stale bread or salad. Myself and my wife aren’t food snobs and have stayed at many all inclusives and we both agreed this was the worst one for food. We ended up eating out most nights which defeated the object of paying for all inclusive. The issues were raised with staff during the stay but nothing changed.
The building work is going on and will be for a long while it didn’t cause us huge problems but we were unaware of it before arriving and it was noisy at times in the morning when we were woken up to drilling.
If you want a clean hotel for a few nights you could stay here but I suspect you could find something cheaper and better in the vicinity. We won’t be returning.
Positives -
-pool area was clean and lovely to sunbathe around
-manager was helpful when raised initial concerns regarding rudeness of staff and upgraded us, was really lovely and arranged to meet us to talk and was very apologetic
-desserts were nice
Negatives-
-designer clothing stolen by cleaning staff from room, was told nothing was left in there after we checked out however there was designer jumpers, swim suits and toiletries left in there, spoke to other guests and they also said their designer hat was stolen. I have also seen in the other reviews this isn’t the first time it has happened.
-rude staff called partner stupid when my partner only asked if they were okay this was handled by management
-food was awful - lack of variety, bacon stuck together, sausages were raw when bit into them, lack of flavour. Me and my partner got food poisoning from the food there
-only few snacks with all inclusive - had to pay extra for burgers and most of the cocktails etc Even though had all inclusive plus
-a lot of the staff looked like they didn’t want to be there or be willing to help (besides manager)
-I’ve sent a second email to the hotel regarding the other concerns however I am awaiting a reply of how the above can be compensated
Drinki z automatu niezbyt dobre i według mnie powinni to poprawić
We were situated on the 6th floor, not a problem as there were 3 lifts. Everyday the room was cleaned to a high standard which we really appreciated. Pool is a lovely temperature, not freezing! So many sun lounges available so not stressful getting beds. Can’t reserve beds and your towel is taken if you do before 10am. You get free pool towels which you can change daily. Food in restaurant was ok, always something to eat, meat, fish, veg, bread, cheese so much to choose. Snack bar by pool is open 11-5 which serve pizzas, baguettes and salads. Drinks were good no queues. Entertainment was ok and showed the big footy games for those who like sport. On the day you leave you can book a room for a shower if needed. You get an hour slot . There was building work going on but we never noticed it really. Nice hotel would recommend .
Me and my partner booked this hotel through love holidays with our decision being mainly based on the outstanding reviews of the hotel and food.
First, the positives:
The hotel is lovely, well situated in a central part of Playa Del Ingels and it sits around a 10-15 minute walk from the beach and the popular Yumbo centrum. There is no taxi rank outside and we found that most of the trips we had booked were being picked up from the hotel next to us which had a bus rank and car park. Whilst there was a car park at this hotel, we went during a time where external building work was happening, leading to the main car park being closed for safety.
For starters, the room was lovely, plenty of room and a nicely sized and partitioned wardrobe. The balcony was also of ample size and the furniture wasn’t cheap or old, it was lovely to sit out there during the evenings. The bathroom was very reasonably size with a nice large shower fit for 2 people and a sink with a big mirror and lots of space for toiletries. The cleaners always did a great job and even took it upon themselves to organise our bathroom from time to time, as we well as tuck our teddy (Jean Paul) into bed.
The general areas of the hotel were very lovely with nice, comfortable furniture inside with an all inclusive bar in the main foyer. The reception desk was manned by at least 2 people every time we passed and they could be reached by phone at any time too. There are a couple of shops selling basic amenities such as sun cream and bags. Everywhere was always clean and tidy.
The pool days were lovely. The pool itself was very large and you never felt as though it was crowded. Fighting for a sunbed was never an issue here and we were always able to get a decent spot in the sun. The hotel also enforced a “no sunbed reservation” policy which helps. For reference, we usually went down for breakfast and got out to the pool around 10:00 most mornings. The bar was self- serve for soft drinks and if you wanted spirits, the bartender would pour it for you and you added the soft drinks yourself. There was also a cold water tap for filling bottles and free ice cream available all day. The snack bar was a paid extra which we didn’t take advantage of but the food looked fine for a mid-day snack.
Now for the not-so-postives.
We had an early flight which landed us at the hotel around 11:00. Whilst we understand that check-in was not until 14:00, hotels often make exceptions for earlier flights, so we began checking in. We were informed by the staff member on duty that our room was not ready yet and she wouldn’t be able to give us our keys until then. She said to put our luggage in the luggage room and come back in an hour and she would be able to check us in. We did this and killed some time, returning at 12:00 only to be told that she did NOT say that and we may not be able to check in until after 15:00 as the guests in our room had been given a late checkout (14:00). After some complaining and sitting around, we were finally able to check in around 13:30 however, this did put a damper on the start of our holiday. Upon returning to our room in the evening to go to bed, we noticed a brown skid stain at the top of our bed sheet (Photo attached). We called reception to fix this and was told a housekeeper would come up in “a bit” to resolve the issue. We waited around 20 minutes before calling them back to check on the progress of this and, an additional 10 minutes before we got someone to change the sheets.
The biggest negative for us - The food:
We booked this hotel initially due to the overwhelming positive reviews regarding the all-inclusive buffet. We often prefer to spend a little more on the hotel with good food as it saves you eating out. Whilst I cannot argue about the quality of the food served, our main issue came from the lack of choice. Whilst I understand that the hotel is near the sea, on most nights, I would say at least 70% of the dishes were seafood. Myself and my partner do not eat seafood therefore this was a bit of a struggle at times. The reviews didn’t say anything about the dishes being mainly seafood so this was somewhat a surprise to us. As an example - on one of the nights we went down for dinner, every single dish was either seafood, vegetarian or a pigs foot. For us, this was not something we were willing to eat and the only seafood alternative being a pigs foot was quite appalling. We went out to eat on this night and a few others.
This part of the hotel was a huge disappointment. The lack of varied dishes was such a shame and I wish we had known this before we booked. It may be different during different seasons but I am writing this based on the experience we had - poor. This story was the same through lunch and dinners. Breakfast was always fairly simple, with the typical cold and hot food options available. The dinner also seemed to be on a weekly rotation so, if you are staying for more than 1 week, understand that the dishes will repeat almost exactly after the first week. We really had hoped for more in this department and I would say it was one of the major disappointments of our trip.
Just as a quick mention, we found the serving staff quite rude. The chefs behind the hot bar were always very polite but the staff carting food to the hot plates would often almost ram straight into you with zero apology and generally get in the way with their carts during busy dinner rushes. I understand that the food needed restocking however, the almost forcing of people out of the way was not necessary.
All in all, this hotel is not the bad by a long shot, the areas are nicely kept and our time by the pool was always a pleasure. I do believe that the food did knock this place down a few pegs in our book due to it being one of the deciding factors for us when booking a holiday. If you were not all inclusive, this might not be an issue for you. The drinks were always poured the Spanish way (strong) and the place was not overcrowded. The rooms were well kept and the entertainment - although we didn’t go to see it - sounded fine from our balcony. It is worth noting that this does go on until around 22:30 on some nights though.
As a note for someone looking at going here for the first time, I think it’s important to understand that outside of the hotel, the area is a bit lacking. This is by no means a criticism of the hotels location, more so one of Play Del Ingels as a whole. It is quite dated and very spread out. There is no “strip” like you may have come to expect from a canary island and the only real place you could do some shopping (Yumbo Centrum) did not give friendly vibes. It is heavily targeted towards gay males which is not an issue however, a few of the bars here do openly advertise sex rooms and glory holes which can make you feel quite uncomfortable if that isn’t your thing. I get that people likely book in this area for that reason and we did not have any bother. It is important to understand my distinction between an area with gay bars made for gay people - I am always more than happy to attend such venues and, the drag act looked great - and, sex clubs. One does not represent the other and, the latter was not mentioned by previous holiday goers. Due to this, we decided to keep our trips here short and ending them by around 21:00 seemed to be a good rule of thumb as the clubs I mention were usually closed.
I think the hotel is valued just slightly over what it should be. If the food was improved, I think this could be a really lovely place to stay. It was really our main issue and, for some, this would not be a problem. We still had a fantastic time here and would be interested to know how things change throughout the year.
Pulizia e cortesia
We are here now and yes there are small changes. Its to be expected when the hotel is under renovation. We have been here 14 times and still love it. Staff are friendly. Queue for drinks at night do not go down as quickly as they used to staff shortage maybe. I will do a full review at the end of holiday. I worked in travel and recommended quite a few people to this hotel and they always gave good feedback. One disappointment is WHERE IS HOLMES????? Best entertainment ever.
