Waiting for upgrades
Pros:

The location was good. The breakfast was good and the staff was fine and very helpful.

Cons:

Considering the Hilton name, the furnishings in the suites were in much need of an upgrade. The sofa in our first assigned room was so bad and filthy we had to ask for another room. The staff was very accommodating and apologetic. I probably would not stay here again until they did some furniture upgrade and new flooring. It just felt like an old hotel. The lobby and surroundings looked new.

Had a great time at this hotel, the room was awesome and breakfast was one of the best at a hotel.
Pros:

It was clean and the elevator had a room card swipe so only people staying there could use it.

Cons:

Not much room to pack up or unload, but they are limited on space just like all the other hotels in the area.

Pros:

Die Lage ist hervorragend, fußläufig ist Downtown und die Waterfront erreichbar. Die Suite war sehr geräumig und sehr gut ausgestattet. Das Frühstück umfangreich.

Pros:

The location was perfect for our 8 days. Lots to do and 10 minutes to the waterfront was very nice.

Cons:

We had to ask 3 times to get our room cleaned! It took 3 days to get it cleaned! We were told the washer and dryer wasn't hooked up so we took a cab to a laundromat . But we got back there was a couple on the elevator who told us they just did their laundry downstairs. So we went down and they were working!! So wasted time and money on a cab for nothing!

Pros:

Room was large and spacious. desk service was great. laundry facilities were fine.

Cons:

Breakfast was big on quantity, though the quality could have been improved. There was limited slection, but i was there 9 days. Sometimes the cooked part of the breakfast was not hot

We'd stay there again, if the need arose. it also seems to be popular withe the WestJet and AC crews

our room was spacious and had 26-hour laundry service that was much appreciated. the staff was professional, helpful and friendly

Cons:

well the free breakfast was free, so that was good. but the meat option was nearly always port, and that is not something we eat'. Eggs were not always properly cooked and always some form of scrambled. On more than one occassion during our weeks stays. either the food, the chicken or the eggs were no warm

Pros:

Best hotel breakfast I have ever seen. The highlight for sure. Very comfy beds. The wheelchair accessible room was perfect for me and my 8 year old - everything was at his height.

Cons:

Pool looked bigger, and wasnt very warm. Washing machines were down. Wish I had booked the Oceanside view.

Homewood Suites Halifax… you might have just made my Top Hotels list.
Pros:

Checked into Homewood Suites by Hilton Halifax‑Downtown and right from the start the staff were incredible — front desk, housekeeping, breakfast crew, everyone. I was a little confused about the parking setup, and they didn’t just point… they walked me through it, visually, step‑by‑step. Parked in a big, clean garage, came back inside, and the same staff member picked up our conversation like we never paused and guided me straight to the elevators. Little things like that go a long way.

Day 1:
Opened the door to my 14th‑floor room and instantly said wow. Huge space. Full‑size fridge, microwave, dishwasher, fully stocked kitchenette, pull‑out couch, and a rolling desk you can move anywhere.

And then… the complimentary snack bar. Restocked daily. Fully free. I sent a picture home and my kids basically started a countdown for my return.

Day 2:
Slept like a dream — quiet, cool, super comfortable bed and pillows. Breakfast in the morning was legit one of the best complimentary hotel breakfasts I’ve had: scrambled eggs, bacon, hash browns, fresh juices… zero complaints.

Came back from meetings to find the room refreshed, towels replaced, and yes… the snack bar topped up again.

Day 3:
By this point I realized this might be one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had. Perfect location, peaceful, and staff who genuinely care.

I’ll admit — I raided that snack bar three times. Felt a little guilty until I learned it’s built into the room rate. My kids will treat me like a hero when I walk through the door, so I regret nothing.

I truly hope to return — and not just for the snack bar… but it definitely doesn’t hurt.
