Great position and great breakfast.
Rooms rather tired. Had building work going on with scaffolding across the windows which was noisey as they worked.
Property was clean and in a convenient location - about 20-30min walk out of centre of York. Breakfast was great - Wheatlands special of ham and eggs highly recommended!

I found some of the staff very unhelpful & not displaying evidence of people skills considering it is a hotel. No genuine welcome on arrival & felt irrelevant & invisible except for breakfast staff who were friendly & professional.

Very homely. Clean tidy and warm.

The receptionist was amazing , explaining everything we needed to know. Very clean and comfy room. Breakfast was amazing.
The building of the hotel is super nice, with nice lawn/small fontains in from of it. There is also pub and lobbey is very nicely decorated. it is 24/7 manned as I understood. My room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was also good (though it is not a open buffet, one can get different things, and the staff is very fast).
I stayed only one night - there is nothing to complain, except of the fact that the building facade is being currently renovated and thus the building does not look nice. But this is I hope temporary.
The room is comfortsble, well kept and clean. Breakfast is excellent. The staff is attentive and helpfull (the latter is regarding the parking of the car).

Breakfast was very nice, staff were quick and pleasant.
Unfortunately there was a sports (cricket?) team staying on the night we were there and I believe some of them were rather drunk and heading back to their rooms talking very loudly in the corridors until after 2 o'clock in the morning
The staff was wonderful especially Mars and the owner. It was a wonderful stay and breakfast and dinner were great. Perfect location to walk into town.
