We totally enjoyed our stay.
Pros:

Lovely place to stay. Decorated nicely with lots of art including the owners’. Great den and balcony off the room. Friendly staff. Complimentary breakfast was great.

Cons:

It was a bit off the main highway but not too far.

Not worth the money, staff couldn't do anything without checking with the owner and he was rude.
Pros:

For an extra $20 +tax, we got a nice water view room. We are seniors and were initially put in a shitty second floor dark room, with no elevator, facing the parking lot. This was supposedly a $180/night room?

Cons:

Dinner in the restaurant was horrible. Deep fried cod when the menu said pan fried, limp fries, tastleless frozen veggies. Charged over $12 for a 2x2" piece of cheesecake that was obviously some big, cheap slab cake that probably cost that much for the whole cake. The owner was really rude when we addressed this. No pool (seasonal), but hot tub and sauna should have been open. It was the second week of June. Heater in room was noisy.

A good place to stay with comfortable beds!
Pros:

Shallow Bay was such a pleasant stay on our trip! The ladies behind the counter were amazing - so friendly and kind, and it was awesome having restaurants on property. The beds were the most comfortable of all of the places we stayed, and parking was never an issue. Having access to a sauna was a nice bonus!

Cons:

The pool and hot tub were not yet open during our stay which wasn't apparent when we booked.

Great location with a good ocean view.
Pros:

Our room was right on the shore. we could see ducks and swallows form the window. The hotel was directly across from the theatre where we had tickets for an evening of "down home music" The staff tried to find a solution for the low toilet which my arthritic knees can not manage. They did not succeed but were very cordial.

Cons:

Low toilet . everything else was as expected.
