Great hotel location, just a 10–15 minute walk to the riverwalk. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and clean, with very high ceilings. An extra bed was provided for a small additional fee.
None
Fantastic! Everything was clean. The location was perfect for getting to Raymond James Stadium. Everyone from the valet to the custodians were polite.
High ceilings, complimentary mimosas, amazing breakfast, superb staff!
A little pricey but I think it was due to all the simultaneous events occurring during my stay on the weekend of April 24th.
If you have a nice vehicle, think twice before using valet at Le Méridien Tampa, The Courthouse.
I watched them rev my truck from my hotel room for no reason.
I stay in Tampa often and usually have zero issues with valet, which is why this stood out. I'm also a Marriot Bonvey Elite member, and frequent their high end hotels all over.
My truck was moved multiple times during my stay and I didn't have a single issue. The last time was different. My room faced the front of the hotel, so my fiancée and I clearly watched them bring it up revving it unnecessarily. Not a quick tap. They were on it.
I went downstairs and told the front desk manager first. He pretty much looked at me and did nothing. No urgency, no concern. So at that point I addressed it myself.
The valet driver kept saying "that thing's loud man" over and over, which didn't make sense. The truck is only loud on startup or if you're actually getting on it, which is exactly the issue here.
I never threatened anyone. I asked what I'm supposed to do in a situation like that after being given multiple different explanations. Them claiming I "physically threatened staff".
What actually happened is the valet driver followed me back into the hotel demanding my keys, escalating things for no reason.
I spoke with both the valet manager and hotel manager after that. They removed the valet fee and let me self park, which told me they knew something wasn't right.
Shortly after that, I got a call saying I needed to leave the property. I had no issue with that and moved on.
What doesn't sit right is how this was handled and then misrepresented publicly instead of just owning it.
My fiancée watched the entire situation from above, and from our perspective, the way things escalated felt off. As an African American couple addressing our property being disrespected, it quickly turned into us being labeled as the problem while dealing with a Caucasian valet driver and management. Whether intentional or not, that's how it came across to us.
To make it even clearer, another guest who witnessed the situation told me the way they were driving my truck was "crazy" and said he would've been heated too.
I left and stayed at JW Marriott Tampa Water Street and had zero issues. Valet was smooth, professional, no games.
For context, I normally stay at places like The Tampa EDITION and Epicurean Hotel and have never experienced anything like this.
At the end of the day, mistakes happen. How you handle them matters. This wasn't handled right.
If you care about your vehicle or expect a certain level of professionalism, I wouldn't trust valet here.
I lived in Tampa for years and had to move away but recently returned for one night before a flight out. I chose to try Le Meridien and was so happy. They upgraded me a really nice Deluxe Room overlooking the bank steps and the interior is fascinating to explore.
The bed was very comfortable and bathroom very large, and I love the desk with the fancy swivel chair.
I highly recommend this property!
Le Méridien Tampa was phenomenal from start to finish. The property itself is beautiful and full of character, and you can tell a lot of thought has gone into creating a really unique experience. The rooms were stylish, comfortable, and extremely well maintained, making it easy to relax and enjoy the stay.
The restaurant was also fantastic. The food was excellent, the presentation was great, and the service was attentive without being overbearing. It was one of those places where you actually want to linger and enjoy the atmosphere.
What really stood out was the overall attention to detail throughout the hotel. The staff was welcoming, the property was spotless, and everything felt polished and professional. It’s rare to find a place that gets so many things right, but Le Méridien Tampa definitely does.
I’m already looking forward to my next stay. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Tampa.
The hotel was selected for the good ratings and the images that were posted, which were misleading, and on top of that they called it Le Méridien :|
Location, the hassle of retrieving the car by the staff, the old floor tiles that looks dirty, and the overworked elevator.
I loved the historical aspect of the building. The staff was also very friendly.
I did not like the weird and random looking attic type latch above the shower. It crept me out ... I also did not like the fact there were no robes in the rooms, coffee machine or additional blanket.
Good choice for a comfortable stay in Tampa. Loved the hot chocolate and holiday treats in the lobby. That was a welcomed December surprise.
Terrible service. We came here with a group and four of us had to wait over 3 hours for our rooms. Two of us are still waiting and they won’t give us updates
We hosted our annual law school barristers ball at the courthouse and it was an excellent experience start to finish. Heather, our coordinator was a pleasure to work with, super attentive and helpful from start to finish, walked me through the entire process and was available whenever I needed her. Her staff a the hotel (Sam, Ivan, Diego and Masha) was also incredible! On the day of our event when stress was high and pressure was on, they accommodated my every need, worked with my crew to set up the event down to every single detail, and made sure every last minute request was met. Not to mention the historical atmosphere of being in the actual judges chambers and staying in a gorgeous hotel to end the night. Absolutely 10/10. I can’t thank everyone enough for making our students and faculties experience more perfect!
The staff was very friendly and helpful.
It wasn't very family friendly. There was also a weird sulfuric smell when we were going to bed.
This was by far the absolute worst hotel experience I’ve ever had! My friend and I were super excited for a girls night getaway and chose le Méridien because of its location to a concert we were attending. We figured, ‘treat ourselves’ right? …we should have just chosen to drive home to Orlando.
The room was fine and we had a decent check in. When we got back to the room around 1a that’s when it all went downhill. We got back to our room and within minutes noted the fire alarm battery was chirping. We called the front desk and were told someone from security would come check it out.
Security came in, called the front desk and told them we need another room, the alarm system mind you is at the top of a 15-20ft ceiling. Apparently, that was a no go, they were ‘sold out’. He proceeds to come back with a 5ft ladder (remember the ceiling height?) After I carried it in the room and set it up (poor dude had prob never been on a ladder in his life), he tried to then climb up the ladder on the wrong side. We got him on the right side and to our shock… he couldn’t reach.
At this point, it’s 2am, security leaves and is no where to be found and the bit at the front desk is now giving US attitude for having the audacity to call again about a situation they still haven’t fixed. We pressure her for another room, a different hotel, anything so we can get a little sleep before heading home. She finally gives in and says there’s one room, but we have to wait until 3:30a to swap and be sure the guests don’t show up. She says she’ll call us in an hour, we’ll get some earplugs and we come to the agreement, we’re not paying for our stay.
One set of earplugs gets delivered to the room… that’s all they had…
We slam a bottle of wine, carb out on pizza and manage to pass out for a few hours.
Fast forward to the next morning, no call to change rooms… By 7a we’re ready to get the hell out. Upon checking out, the manager wanted to argue with us about our stay. We were told our room would be ‘discounted’ and that we never returned at 3:30a to get a new room key… NOPE! Nobody called us… they also swapped their story around about 4 times… So after causing a delightful little scene in the lobby our room was finally comped.
This staff lies, cheats and tries to manipulate its guests… don’t fall for it. So much for 4-star Marriott service…
The catering and events team at Le Méridien Tampa is absolutely wonderful. As the catering sales manager, Heather DiGiulio was a dream to work with, demonstrating thoughtfulness and attentiveness that made my job effortless. Our banquet captains, Ivan Ropov and Sam Choukri, were equally impressive, always available and ready to assist with anything we needed. Their combined effort ensured our event ran flawlessly. They were constantly available and proactive, ensuring every last detail was taken care of. This level of professionalism and care made our event a complete success."
