Camelot Castle Hotel

The hotel looked tired as did our room. It did not live up to the pictures. The room had a capsule type of bathroom and not what I expected for the money I paid, I have stayed in premier inns with better bathroom facilities. Breakfast had to ordered the day before even if you were unsure if you were going to be hungry or not.

Small room with small extra small double bed and tiny bathroom. No crockery or cutlery or fridge.

The Apartment was dirty, bread crumbs from previous occupier on the cutting board , cushions dusty,myself and my partner left with bites, on entering the apartment on the first day there were flies inside. We has breakfast the first morning, it was terrible, omelette over cooked and inedible, cooked breakfast was very poor for £35 for two. Coffee cold and no taste at all. We were under the impression that the apartment would be detached and would not have booked it if we knew we would have other guests attached to the side and above our apartment. We knew when they went to the loo, showered,did their washing and used the dishwasher, we don't like to be woken by guests above us at 7am.

We stayed in apartment 1 upstairs, the weather was very hot, the irony was they provided radiators to kept you warm in winter, but no Air conditioning to keep you cool in summer. It was like sitting in an oven, it was Awful we did not sleep for the 4 days we were there. We stayed in a place in Wilmslow on the way there, which was a third of the price per night, yet they had air conditioning. It is ridiculous they don’t have it. We had one fan which was useless. Secondly the staff were not welcoming or friendly, the two young girls who worked the bar on Friday the 25th of June were terrible, as I approached the bar, there was a man complaining to one of the girls, she had overcharged him for his drinks, then I had orders the same brand of vodka/ and coke for two rounds of drinks, two different prices, were given, which I questioned the girl said no you had a different vodka, I said I know what I had last time I specifically asked for the more expensive vodka because I liked the taste,I showed her what I had paid on my phone for the first round which was a different of £3.50, I do wonder how often are they doing this? in the end they did not apologise just said it was a mistake and charged me the original price. At one point there was six of us waiting to be served, while they were ignoring us all and talking about there breaks and what they wanted to eat for there dinner, it was like we were not even there, no apology we will be with you in a minute. Then they were using smaller glasses for the same drinks I asked twice for ice still not put it in? I had to ask again, they looked like fish out of water. I do not understand why nobody is supervising them and giving the them any support. A trained chimpanzee would have been better than these two put together, the service was terrible, and this let it down. Overall a disappointing experience. Yes it’s a nice view, but it needs to be more than that for an overall better quality hotel, not value for money.

Room, Bathroom and attitude on reception

The breakfast was warm and not hot the sausage was over cooked the egg was over cooked.
The second day we told the staff the breakfast the day before wasn't hot enough, the breakfast this time only just made hot.
Evening meals were OK but not as good as we were expecting.
My wife wouldn't drink on the second evening after she seen the barman run his fingers through his greasey hair which made us quite annoyed.

The bathroom was horrendous . Breakfast was not good. The English breakfast was deep fried
