the location was good but difficult to get long term parking. The staff were pleasant
That room we were given was not good. It was very small, the smallest on the floor and it faced difficult into the afternoon sun. The windows would not open. Considering we booked 4 months in advance it was very disappointing. The photos on booking.com are a poor representation of the room. Room 110 -avoid it.
Clean and cool in the heat.
Secure parking for our bikes. Welcoming and efficient staff. It has a lift. Good sized room.
The menu looked good, but finished serving food at 8.00 so didn't get to sample it.
Really lovely, clean room - well stocked too! Very quiet and felt comfortable as a solo visitor. Great location and staff were lovely from the receptionist to cleaners to breakfast staff. Great breakfast included too.
The room was a little hot but there were fans provided. Shower lacked pressure. Overall pretty minor points!
Old hotel in the town centre
Breakfast was good, staff were very friendly and helpful. Hotel is nicely situated in the middle of town.
A minor issue - all the TV channels had a weird voiceover going on all the time. Also be aware that the church bells chime every quarter of an hour!
Central town square, ideal for enjoying the character and atmosphere of Dolgellau.
Breakfast was poor
Everything
Staff was very friendly and helpful food was very good and the room was lovely
Great food and pleasant staff, great looking building
The rooms needed a bit of tlc, cups in rooms were dirty, the bathrooms had mouldy silicone and grout dirty sink hole shame really as it could be wonderful just let down on the cleanliness -
Everything! Right in the middle of town. Lovely staff, clean and comfortable. Good food and service!
If I’m being really picky the pillows were much too soft. Vege sausages were awful! Very small price to pay for an otherwise really lovely hotel
Very good location, a perfect pub with bedrooms. Good food, friendly staff
The staff was fantastic, super friendly and helpful. Lunch and dinner was excellent, super tasty and honest.
The location is central and great, the price is SUPERB and on its own, already makes some of the flaws (listed below as actionable feedback) just not matter because you get a mega cozy acommodation with great staff with fantastic value for money. We enjoyed our time in Wales quite a lot and the Royal Ship was a big part of that.
Thank you so much!
The breakfast was... let's say ruggedly authentic. Simple and functional. Not bad, but just not comparable to dinner and lunch, which was outstanding.
The bed was eeeever so slightly tilted downwards at the head side. It's not bad but once you notice it you can't forget it.
The water system needs an upgrade. Warm water needs a lot of time to arrive in the shower and if one person flushes the toilet it needs a few minutes to properly reset for the next flush.
There's a few patches that need fixing up like wall tapestry or the window shutters not closing properly.
Wonderful staff and a great location
I’d complain about the tiny lift, but at least this hotel has one!
