Cons:

No Safety box in the room. All hotel room should have a laptop size safe. ….. No tea kettle in room although they did bring one when I requested. I had to supply my own tea. Some people don’t drink coffee. I didn’t want to wait until the communal tea was available at 8am and I like a proper cuppa with very hot water which is not available from a coffee maker.

The highlight of our Mexico trip. Stay there if going to Merida
Pros:

Everything was truly lovely. The breakfasts were outstanding each day. The bedroom was luxurious and well laid out The lovely pool area and the personal attention. We got amazing food recommendations plus they organised a day tour for us privately.

Also it was lovely, having the tequila and Mezcal tasting available.

The staff were beyond lovely. I cannot recommend the place highly enough. They turned our Merida experience into the highlight of our holiday.

Excelente relaxing Retreat
Pros:

It was private, quiet, clean, and relaxing. The staff was also very helpful and attentive. Their added a special message and added details during our stay that made our family feel very welcomed. Services were top notch. They even helped us book tours and transport.

Un hotel boutique muy calido
Pros:

El desayuno excepcional, todo el ambiente es muy acogedor, el personal es increible y la disposicion a atender al huesped insuperable. Una piscina en el medio del patio hace que el calor de Merida en esas fechas haya sido mas agradable.

Cons:

Tienen un problema de olor de humedad en alguna habitacion, al entrar lo mencionamos e inmediatamente nos cambiaron a otra, para compensar el malestar inicial pusieron a nuestra disposicion un botella de vino a eleccion, un detalle no menor.

Pros:

tutto perfetto, colazione eccelllente, staff, accoglienza professionalità. Proprietari disponibili gentili di grande aiuto nel dare consigli. Un bellissima parentesi a Merida
consigliatissimo.

la camera era priva di finestre, la posizione nn è centralissima però lo avevo visto sulla mappa.

One of the most thoughtful and welcoming hotel experiences we’ve had

Lovely boutique hotel in a quiet area of Merida. Upon arrival, we were greeted by friendly staff who not only served a delicious welcome cocktail, but also shared thoughtful and personalised recommendations for our stay in Merida.

The entire team at The Diplomat went above and beyond to make our stay exceptional, showing genuine warmth throughout. From the homemade vegetarian breakfast each morning to the poolside cocktails and the ultra-fast laundry service, everything was seamless and always delivered with a smile.

The small shop offering local specialties and gifts was also a lovely touch.

Our room was spacious, spotless, comfortable, and equipped with everything we needed.

If we're ever back in Merida, we will definitely be back!

As frequent travelers who have lived in Argentina, the United States, and also spent four wonderful years living in Mexico, we can honestly say this was one of those rare hospitality experiences that truly stays with you.

What made this place so special was not only the beauty of the property or the excellent service, but the authentic way the hotel honors and celebrates Mexican culture. Having lived in Mexico ourselves, we know how meaningful it is to find places that genuinely respect and elevate the local traditions, people, and spirit—and this hotel does exactly that.

Every member of the team made us feel genuinely welcome, and the attention to detail throughout our stay was exceptional. The warmth, professionalism, and personalized care created an experience that felt much deeper than simply staying at a hotel—it felt like reconnecting with everything we love about Mexico.

Pros:

It‘s such a beautiful jewel in Merida. The private atmosphere, the staff which knows so much about Merida / Yucatan, what to explore, where to eat, drink & what activities are most likely enjoyable tailor made to your itinerary. The room was amazing, very big with everything you need. Also the outside surroundings with the pool, the bar, etc. Very clean and spacious. The chef cooks an amazing breakfast, so fresh!! It‘s such a pleasant atmosphere, that makes us not wanna leave. Thank you SO much for everything.
