Lovely boutique hotel in a quiet area of Merida. Upon arrival, we were greeted by friendly staff who not only served a delicious welcome cocktail, but also shared thoughtful and personalised recommendations for our stay in Merida.

The entire team at The Diplomat went above and beyond to make our stay exceptional, showing genuine warmth throughout. From the homemade vegetarian breakfast each morning to the poolside cocktails and the ultra-fast laundry service, everything was seamless and always delivered with a smile.

The small shop offering local specialties and gifts was also a lovely touch.

Our room was spacious, spotless, comfortable, and equipped with everything we needed.

If we're ever back in Merida, we will definitely be back!

Wunderschönes Hotel, die Anlage ist sehr gepflegt und hochwertig und stilvoll eingerichtet, eine Oase zum Wohlfühlen, überaus freundliche und herzliche Besitzer & Mitarbeiterinnen, selbst vor der Anreise bekamen wir Tipps zu Sehenswürdigkeiten auf dem Weg, das Frühstück ist liebevoll präsentiert und von hoher Qualität.

As frequent travelers who have lived in Argentina, the United States, and also spent four wonderful years living in Mexico, we can honestly say this was one of those rare hospitality experiences that truly stays with you.

What made this place so special was not only the beauty of the property or the excellent service, but the authentic way the hotel honors and celebrates Mexican culture. Having lived in Mexico ourselves, we know how meaningful it is to find places that genuinely respect and elevate the local traditions, people, and spirit—and this hotel does exactly that.

Every member of the team made us feel genuinely welcome, and the attention to detail throughout our stay was exceptional. The warmth, professionalism, and personalized care created an experience that felt much deeper than simply staying at a hotel—it felt like reconnecting with everything we love about Mexico.

We are incredibly grateful for this experience and truly hope to return soon. Highly recommended for anyone looking for something authentic, thoughtful, and unforgettable.

It‘s such a beautiful jewel in Merida. The private atmosphere, the staff which knows so much about Merida / Yucatan, what to explore, where to eat, drink & what activities are most likely enjoyable tailor made to your itinerary. The room was amazing, very big with everything you need. Also the outside surroundings with the pool, the bar, etc. Very clean and spacious. The chef cooks an amazing breakfast, so fresh!! It‘s such a pleasant atmosphere, that makes us not wanna leave. Thank you SO much for everything.

In 1 woord GEWELDIG!! Het allermooiste hotel waar we in 2 weken gezeten hebben in Mexico. Ook een warm welkom en het ontbijt echt subliem!

Breakfast was excellent but what made the experience was the staff. They are terrific!!

An absolutely fantastic stay! The room was beautiful, spacious and very comfortable. The staff were exceptional: welcoming, attentive and genuinely helpful throughout. They shared great recommendations not only for Mérida but also for Mexico City and helped organise a brilliant trip to Chichén Itzá and the cenotes.
Also, they make some of the best margaritas :-)

L’équipe du Diplomate est juste exceptionnelle ! chaque membre souriant, prévenant, bienveillant a été aux petits soins pour nous dès notre arrivée pour un séjour 5 étoiles !
Nous avons été accueillis avec cocktail d’arrivée très agréable, nous avons bénéficié de très belles recommandations de restaurants formidables à Mérida, les réservations des diners et des taxi immédiats sur demande ainsi que des lieux à visiter. Nos besoins étaient toujours anticipés lorsque nous partions en excursion avec remise de serviettes pour aller se baigner dans les cénotes, préparation d’un petit déjeuner à emporter pour nos visites matinales ! La chef est extraordinaire et nous a concocté des propositions succulentes sur mesure chaque matin, en tenant compte d’intolérances alimentaires, ce qui nous a vraiment beaucoup touché.
L’équipe nous a aussi fait la surprise pour l’anniversaire de mon mari de décorer notre chambre et de lui offrir un gâteau le jour J ! une très délicate attention qui a rendu cette journée encore plus extraordinaire !
Nous avons adoré ce lieu qui est magique, paisible et ressourçant et nous y reviendrons l’année prochaine avec hâte !

Being at this hotel was like visiting generous friends. The welcome was personal, friendly and very helpful explaining everything and asking if we would like anything beyond those. The room was large beautiful and functional. The free breakfasts were creative delicious and presented personally to each guest explaining all items.

Die Gastgeber Sara und Neil haben hier etwas ganz Besonderes geschaffen: ein kleines Boutique Hotel mit fünf Zimmern, das wirklich keine Wünsche offen lässt. Wir reisen sehr viel, aber so eine Unterkunft haben wir noch selten erlebt.
+ Die Zimmer sind sehr gemütlich und gediegen ausgestattet. Man fühlt sich einfach wohl. Es wurde an alles gedacht bei der Ausstattung.
+ Das Frühstück: das ganze Team kümmert sich wunderbar. Es gibt kein Buffet, keine Menüauswahl, sondern es wird einfach ein köstliches und vielfältiges Frühstück serviert. Das Team ist auch stets offen für Sonderwünsche.
+ Der Innenhof und Poolbereich: zwei Liegen, zwei bequeme Sessel, eine Doppelliege unter den Palmen. Alles sehr gemütlich.
+ Der kleine Shop mit einer feinen Auswahl macht Spaß. Man hat richtig Freude etwas mitzunehmen.
+ Das Service: Top!!! Jeder Wunsch wird nach Möglichkeit erfüllt und es wird immer gerne direkt oder via WhatsApp geholfen.
+ Unsere Restaurantempfehlung - das Casa T‘ho: im Innenhof sitzt und isst es sich fantastisch.

We saw the 5.0 star rating on Google with 200+ reviews. Could not be true right? But it is totally valid, it was amazing! Before check in we were added to a whatsapp group of the hotel, which we used during our stay, very smart and welcoming. On arrival we got a little tour of the hotel and a nice cocktail. The hotel has 5 (6?) rooms, a courtyard with a lot of green and a pool. All feels very quiet and relaxing. The rooms are big (the bed short, for a 6'+ guy, but that seems the standard in Mexico)
The staff is amazing, all of them. The owners very helpful and fun. It feels like home.
And every morning you are served an amazingly cooked breakfast, We never had a breakfast like that in a hotel. A freshly made set menu, every day just perfect.

it was like having a private chef. top notch ingredients turned into explosion of flavors. chef and baker makes for a decadent combination.
