Always enjoy popping into Townsville for business it's a relaxing meeting place.
Pros:

The hotel is in a very convenient position, close to the city centre, it also has quite a few places to eat and drink on the same street behind the hotel.

I discovered "The Strand" a fabulous street full of restaurants, cafes and bars, directly across from the beach.

Overpriced 3 star hotel pretending it is "Grand" it is not. My first stay & my last.
Pros:

Staff were great, location is good. Hotel is way overpriced for what it supplies.

Cons:

In my (upmarket) room. First there is the parking charge ($15 or $25 undercover). As there is no parking near you are forced to pay for what should be part of the room. Then there is a $200 deposit incase you try to steal the small tv or non existent cutlery. ONE bottle of water is supplied! If there are two of you, then you need to share.
The hotel felt very cheap in regards to what is supplied. ONLY 2 teabags , even in the cheapest motel you are given at least 6 teabags, I do not drink instant coffee, especially the cheapest rubbish you can buy. No plates, bowls, cutlery etc in the room, obviously to send you to their in-house expensive restaurant. If you do get take away, you have a saucer & a teaspoon to eat from!! Small outdated cups & wine glasses (from 20 years ago) by the look of them. The plug on the desk is for old fashioned computers etc, I could not plug in my Apple Laptop & there is no power point under the desk. No pen or writing pad supplied (cheapness showing).

Good central hotel.
Pros:

Hotel very nice, we've stayed here before. Room is very clean. Beds are good. Ask for decent pillows though, these were like a crisp.

Cons:

No where to get ice. Apparently that facility was out of action. Very good staff though.
Its a pity you have to pay $25 per night to park though. On top of what you are paying for the room.
