Excellent hotel in Zona Colonial área for the budget traveler.
Pros:

Excellent knowledgeable and fast customer service with a smile. Room was as expected, clean and everything worked fine, free wifi included. Inside the hotel was in good condition, the lift worked as it should. The is an ATM in the lobby which is very convenient. At the upper floor there is a small pool and restaurant. All shops, galleries, restaurants, churches, supermarket and parks of the Zona Colonial are within 20 minutes strolling distance. The Zona Colonial is the old part of the Capital of Santo Domingo and you can see and visit the old buildings from even the Columbus period of year 1500, more than 500 years old. Almost all building are in good condition. In the evening there is live street music in the street and parks. There is enough visible security and police in the street, also in the evening. So I had a safe feeling. About 50 meters from the hotel you can find taxis or you can of course book Uber. The room price is very reasonable for the budget traveler.

Cons:

The outside of the hotel building needs some fresh colourfull paint.

Teníamos reservadas dos habitaciones y, al llegar, nos encontramos con unas condiciones que no se correspondían con lo esperado. En una de las habitaciones había una humedad muy importante en el techo, claramente visible y en un estado preocupante, lo que daba una sensación de falta de mantenimiento e higiene.

Además, ambas habitaciones no estaban suficientemente limpias. La limpieza general era deficiente y el estado de las instalaciones no cumplía con un estándar aceptable para un alojamiento de estas características.

Esta situación afectó negativamente a nuestra estancia y nos generó una gran decepción, ya que habíamos reservado esperando unas condiciones adecuadas de comodidad e higiene. Consideramos que el alojamiento no cumplía con la calidad anunciada y solicitamos que se tenga en cuenta esta reclamación y se valore una compensación por las deficiencias encontradas.

A very good hotel with rooms for a decent price for the budget traveler.
Pros:

The service was friendly and to the point, excellent customer service. Everything worked fine: air, fans, refrigarator, toilet, lights, doorlock, lift etc. Free wifi. Inside the hotel is an ATM. I felt very safe in the hotel and neighbour hood, the Zona Colonial which is the old centre of the capital with a lot of historial buildings. Enough visible security/police in the main areas of this part of the City during the day and evening. Everything, from colmados, restaurants, pharmacy, shops, galleries, casino, supermarket, parks etc are within walking distance of 20 minutes. In the evening you have live street music. Taxi is 50 meters further or you can call a Uber. It is not a luxury hotel but for as little as 1500 pesos a day tax included (25 USD) you get a decent and quiet room. So, I recommend this hotel for the budget traveler.

Cons:

It is an old building and the outside needs a nice fresh painting. However the inside is well maintained as far as I could see.
