No hace referencia a que las piscinas pertenecen a otro espacio, y después de la cena literalmente no hay nada que hacer, deberían tener un espacio con juegos de mesa, karaoke, dominó o hasta un billar

L’endroit est magnifique. La chambre est propre et spacieuse. On est complètement coupé du monde. Les repas sont succulents. Les piscines naturels sont juste incroyables

Me gusto mucho el diseño.
También su ubicación con respecto al parque nacional los Haitises
Buena comida, varias veces toco buffet y todo super bien.
Logramos ver varias de las aves endémicas de la zona.
Nos hizo un excelente clima, perfecto para visitar el parque nacional los Haitises y estar en las piscinas.

Cons:

Lástimosamente para personas adultas mayores hay muchas gradas y cuestas. El parqueo de arriba estaba ocupado por un grupo de carros Buggy de arena que llegaron justamente los días que estuvimos.

Etape de rêve au milieu du parc- excursion en bateau dans les grottes et observation des oiseaux
Pros:

Vue à couper le souffle. situation au milieu du parc des Haitises avec une " piscine" qui est en fait un jeu de bassins avec la rivière: chutes d'eau et éclairage de nuit féérique. Accueil du personnel et du guide agréé aux petits soins. Nous avons même joué aux dominos avec notre guide! Nous étions seules dans cette hôtel qui reçoit jusqu'à 200 personnes. Grand calme avec le chant des oiseaux au petit matin. Une très belle étape nature sauvage.

Cons:

L'accès une piste de 25+42 kilomètres avec la route en construction et des déviations pour 4*4. Voitures basses s'abstenir. SUV OK!

A perfect retreat into Dominican nature!
Pros:

Amazing view on the Samana bay, the rice fields, and the mangrove forest. Quiet, peaceful place. Very clean, very friendly staff, good food and good price/quality. The hotel also put us in touch with their guide Wilfried, with whom we spent a nice day in the national park. I definitely recommend this place!

Tour guidé était très bien fait. Le paysage était à couper le souffle.

Cons:

La nuit du 29 il y avait l’anniversaire du propriétaire de l’établissement voisin. La musique était très très très forte jusqu’à 2:15am impossible de dormir. Le pire s’était que les gens de la place s’avait que cette fête allait avoir lieu. Comme prix de consolation on nous a crédité le petit déjeuner alors que c’est l’équivalent d’une nuit qu’on aurait dû recevoir.

A Hidden Paradise in Nature
We spent two unforgettable nights at Altos de Caño Hondo, nestled in the heart of Los Haitises National Park, and it truly felt like stepping into a hidden paradise. The setting is simply breathtaking, surrounded by lush jungle and spectacular natural pools cascading down the hillside.
Our room was spacious and full of rustic charm, even including thoughtful touches like a bathrobe. I especially loved relaxing in the hammock on our balcony, taking in the beautiful views of the savannah, forest, and distant sea, while listening to the soothing sounds of birds, the river, and waterfalls.
The architecture is a work of art in itself — natural, unique, and perfectly integrated into the landscape. The staff were incredibly humble, kind, and attentive, which made the experience even more special.
The food was delicious, and waking up to the sounds of nature each morning was pure bliss. Being in such a pristine forest environment, it’s only natural to encounter lizards, butterflies, insects, and mosquitoes — all part of the authentic experience of staying so close to nature.
The hotel also kindly put us in touch with a taxi driver, Mr. Edwin, whose service was excellent and highly recommended. He picked us up from Punta Cana and later took us to Santo Domingo, making our journey smooth and stress-free.
If you’re looking for a unique eco-lodge experience away from the crowds, this place is truly something special.
Highly recommended — a magical escape into nature.

What I didn’t like
On one night of our stay, the owner of the neighbouring hotel, Paraíso Caño Hondo, was celebrating a birthday. As part of the event, there was very loud music, including both a DJ and a live singer. Unfortunately, the noise continued late into the night and was so loud it felt as if it were inside our room. My husband, myself, and other guests at our hotel were unable to sleep. It felt quite inconsiderate and disrespectful to those staying nearby, especially in such a peaceful, nature-focused setting. While lively celebrations may be part of the local culture, the property also promotes itself to international visitors who may not expect or appreciate music at that volume until 3am.
Apparently, this is not an isolated incident, and even the management of Altos de Caño Hondo has raised concerns with the owner of the neighbouring property, but it seems little regard has been given to resolving the issue.

Great views from a well set up room
Pros:

Well appointed room, with a lot of space and a great view from the balcony. Clean and very comfortable beds. WiFi was included and signal was strong.
