Absolutely stunning old building and even more stunning once inside. The hotel was very clean and the staff were amazing and will definitely be going back and as for the food I. The vault restaurant it was absolutely amazing
After going to Whitby spur of the moment, initially for the day we decided to stay for the night.
We were very pleased with our stay from start to finish. The hotel is beautifully styled, unique and everything is so well put together.
The rooms and bathroom were immaculate, spacious and just gorgeously comfortable. The bed was lovely and soft, the bathroom was stylish, modern and well laid out.
0ur room was a standard double with a view and that view was amazing over looking the Abbey!
The room and the bathroom smelled lovely and the toiletries provided were lovely to use. The shower size and the rainfall shower head were a pleasure to use- especially on such a hot day.
Breakfast was so tasty and there are a number of options alongside the full english. High quality ingredients, beautifully cooked. Proper coffee as well!!
Whitby was a bit of a new adventure to us but we have stumbled on an absolute gem- we will be back. Thank you for a lovely experience.

pleasantly surprised with the hotel and location as it wasn't my first choice.
simple check in,my room (4) was of a good size,very clean and tidy and decorated in warm and welcoming colours and had everything one needs for a comfortable stay including a tidy bathroom with shower.breakfast was served downstairs and offered a good choice and all served by friendly staff and considering my plans i was well happy breakfast was served so early for a sunday.
The hotel is a short steep walk up from the sea front we parked in the pay and display around the corner .
Arriving 30 mins before the advertised check in time, the person on the desk didn’t even offer to see if our room was available which wasn’t very welcoming but we left our bags and returned later to check in. The room was tidy and clean , the bed very comfortable and a fan provided. What wasn’t provided was any bottle water and only 1 pack of biscuits which I thought was a bit measly considering the room rate was more than £160 for b&b. The Vault restaurant staff were very friendly and efficient, breakfast was hot and tasty .
Would stay again but only if found a better rate on the room .

The property is in a very good location. All the staff (specially the girls at the restaurant/bar) were really nice and friendly.
The bed was extremely soft, which made it impossible to sleep well or wake up without pain. The room was also extremely hot, as the windows could only be opened a small amount. That said, the staff were really kind and friendly, and they provided additional fans, which we appreciated.
From the outside you wonder what you have booked . Once inside everything is clean and modern . Room very nicely decorated with fabulous bathroom . Fan provided for heat.
A lot of hills to climb up and down to the water front but that’s not the hotels fault . No restaurant open in the evening. Nearby Parking difficult in the end we payed to stay in a car park. .

Great location, although an incline walk to get to it from the railway station (if you’re not prepared to walk up hills or steps you shouldn’t be in Whitby anyway!)

There was nowhere to sit outside and relax inside when breakfast was being served. We asked if we could sit at our breakfast table after our breakfast, to read the paper and do the crossword. We were told to come back at 10.30 when breakfast was finished.
