Enjoyed our stay, great location
Pros:

This is a nice traditional hotel on the Lake. We had a good sized room with a comfortable bed and 2 very nice armchairs. The view of the lake was pretty and provided good light into the room. A reasonable size fridge was provided. Very happy with the bathroom and walk in shower. Pleasant toiletries.

Cons:

We had chosen a terrace which was a little disappointing but then we saw the bugs and realised we wouldn't sit out anyway.
Whilst the staff were great, the State House restaurant wasn't very good.

For over 500 a night definitely is not worth it
Pros:

The location on the lake ,which you will have at other hotels.

Cons:

For the price and the rating,it was not as expected and never had this experience at any other hotel
The Makup mirror was not working, they sent a maintenance man to fix it , I informed him the the coffee machine was not working, he checked and told me yes but was not his job and I had to inform housekeeping and they brought another one and never took the broken one , So I had some extra broken coffee machine all my stay.
I left my EarPods under the pillow and I am glad I found them that night at the same place under the pillow even the bed was done
They don’t pay attention to details so the location is nice
But maybe they don’t check the rooms to discover what is not working and maybe they just cover the bed and they said it was done.

Nice hotel
Pros:

The hotel was very nice.

Cons:

The price and then additional charges for parking and the $75 fee upon check in. I think that should be all inclusive while paying for the room itself.

Beautiful view
Pros:

The view from our room was gorgeous. We visited during winter and our room overlooked the lake where we could see everyone ice fishing!

A great time and would visit again
Pros:

The room was very well appointed with desk, comfortable relaxing chairs and well appointed wash room. The location was great for us as and being able to relax by the lake was a bonus.

Cons:

The staff from the initial arrival through the complete experience - breakfast and the evening meal were friendly and welcoming. A truly great and enjoyable time

Great trip all around
Pros:

Amazing place. No complaints. Can’t wait to come here again! Food was amazing, drinks were even better. Such a great place to come to relax and not even feel like you’re in a hotel. Felt like I was right at home.

Weekend Stay and Wedding at Edgewater
Pros:

We had a lovely stay at the Edgewater. My son was getting married there over the weekend and the wedding staff was extremely helpful and attentive and the food for the event was amazing!

Great little girls getaway
Pros:

If you’re looking for a fun little getaway, Madison is the perfect spot! We arrived Saturday afternoon and spent some time exploring downtown, which is easily walkable from The Edgewater—or, if you prefer, they offer a complimentary black car service. Saturday afternoon and evening were delightful (places recommended by the staff at Edgewater), and Sunday was pure relaxation with the amazing spa services. We spent the day lounging in the relaxation pool and ordering food in the relaxation room—it was heavenly! Highly recommend for a rejuvenating escape.

The hotel has class.
Pros:

Great location. It was close enough from the Madison Airport to get a ride by a ride app. Excellent service. Staffs were very attentive and had the old hotel manners that most hotels don't have anymore. Wel-lmaintain old, but very charming building and the room that we stayed in was clean and comfortable.
