A tale of two experiences - just not what we expected.
Pros:

The staff worked so hard. And the people of the town did too. Whilst there was noise through the night we woke at 7 to walk our dogs to find a clean, quiet and peaceful seaside town. We will go back, but maybe not on the last Monday/Tuesday of August.

Cons:

I feel awful giving a low score but we arrived when the August festival was on so nothing like the trip we expected with a full blown fair and streets closed off. We didn’t see any notification beforehand. The facilities were overused but not necessarily by residents.

Some improvements required
Pros:

Location and near all facilities. Outstanding staff in dining area

Cons:

Bathrooms with seats and rails. Dirt on the stairs. View of roof from bedroom, so expensive to book 2 nights to look at a roof

Room with a view ❤️
Pros:

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in the Marine Hotel, I have frequented it for many years but this was the first time I have stayed and we have booked again. The staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful. Our room was great, a large room with a beautiful view, a very comfortable bed, we enjoyed a lovely breakfast each morning. It is the perfect location, on the very scenic and picturesque coast.

Cons:

I had no complaints whatsoever.

Fair.
Pros:

Breakfast was very good. I had a meal the previous evening which was quite good.

Cons:

The location of the room allocated to me was not in the hotel . I had to go outside and around a corner to access what they called the cove rooms. Entering that building was like going into a dungeon. This is not acceptable for the price paid for the room. This not hotel experience.

Great hotel
Pros:

Great location, great staff,safe area

Cons:

Noise from outside, boy racer revving his engine and speed to top of street turning round and coming back, hard to sleep, I know this wasn’t the hotels fault but not nice all the same

Amazing as always, Ballycastle is my happy place.
Pros:

The location, decor and staff were lovely ! Very helpful especially Tara.

Cons:

We stayed in the Cove rooms area for four nights. The bed was super comfy, super big bathroom which was great but and our room wasn’t cleaned daily, no fresh water, tea coffee etc which was disappointing. I had to ask reception for refilled twice for these. I also asked housekeeping twice for refills, they agreed but didn’t do it.
Also the wait for staff to tend to us in the outside area of the hotel was disappointing. Many times we had to go inside to ask them to come out.

Pros:

Excellent location across the road from the beach and staff were very welcoming and helpful. Room was quite large. Car park at the rear for hotel guests. Nice restaurant for breakfast and dinner.

Cons:

The room was noisy early in the morning due to intermittent machine motor noise.
