We had a lovely meal, as always, last night in the Marine Hotel, sampling Indian Night. My husband & brother joined me, although my brother was insisting before going that he didn’t like Indian food, they also had another menu running alongside it, but when my brother saw the menu he decided to try it & he was not disappointed! It was a real pleasure seeing him open his mind and sample different foods, he has a disability so often doesn’t do this. All the food was so flavoursome and I felt there was something for everyone on it. It felt a real privilege to sample the delicious Indian food, that has been passed down through families, in the lovely relaxed setting of the hotel.
I couldn’t recommend Indian night any more, it’s a real treat & all the food is clearly loving prepared. Thank you to chef Raj for sharing your delicious food with us & our waitresses Sarah couldn’t do enough for us.
Thank you as always for your hospitality.
Indian evening outstanding. Authentic food from the Hyderabad in-house chef Raj and the waitress Sarah was great!
A must in Ballycastle! Great value.
Will be back next
Month!
We had such a lovely stay at the Marine Hotel Ballycastle. The room had a beautiful view over the sea and both dinner and breakfast were outstanding. Paula the manager is a credit to the hotel and Jessica who served us at dinner was exceptional. Would highly recommend.
Brilliant location fabulous surroundings and assessable to loads of touristy adventures.
No proper bar to lounge in. A few nice sofas but to the side of dinners! Bar in the busy restaurant!
Sijainti on aivan rannan vieressä. Huone oli mukava. Aamupala hyvä.
Liikenteen melu kuului huoneeseen.
The hotel is on the sea front and has free parking for residents, Some of the staff are welcoming , room was a very good size and clean with a walk in shower.
We could not book a disability room even after contacting the hotel by message, The staff in the coffee dock are rude and more interested to talk to there friends than actually serve there customers, We also booked a Dinner in the Bistro only to be told when we arrived that it was buffet unfortunately we were not informed of this issue before hand and had to cancel as my wife is disabled, The room we stayed in was next to the extraction fans and the smell was constantly in the room with the window open as there is no air condition in the rooms and the fans started at 5am in the morning, Breakfast was a buffet system but the cooked food was swimming in oil and there was a queue if you wanted boiled or poached eggs Ect , The manager that was on duty did not seem that interested in dealing with the customers either as we stood for 5 minutes waiting to be seated with no one in front of us, The bar staff also need to be retrained again we waited at the bar for over 10 minutes to be served with only one customer in front of us when we finally got served there was no please or thank you, When we checked out after 2 days we were not even asked if our stay was enjoyable, Sadly we we not return to this hotel in the future.
Soundproofing excellent from outside traffic and inter room.
Nothing all good.
Excellent location in main seaside Street. Great breakfast and they had decaf tea and oat milk all to hand. The Young receptionist was very helpful. We left our car in the hotel carpark and walked over to the ferry for Rathlin island. (6 mins). The big coffee area and outside drinks tables were very comfortable and lots of fresh flowers around the place. 2 mins walk from the beach and playpark.
The decor in the halls of the second floor were very drab.
It is completely unacceptable and misleading that the website advertises à la carte menus, while in reality guests are only offered a poor and disappointing buffet. We were genuinely looking forward to a nice dinner and instead ended up with this cheap substitute. Even at lunchtime, there is nothing but the same minimal buffet.
On the first evening, I only ate salad and chips because nothing else on offer appealed to me. At least there was balsamic vinegar and oil available for the salad. On the second evening, there was again a nice salad, but there was no vinegar or oil anywhere to be found. I had to ask for it several times, yet it still took more than an hour before they finally appeared. This is simply poor service and shows a lack of attention to guests.
On the terrace, guests are expected to scan a QR code to order and provide their phone number and personal details – seriously? Whatever happened to simple customer service? We would much rather place our order with an actual member of staff.
In the room, the bed next to the wall does not even have its own light switch; the light can only be controlled from the other bed, which is completely impractical. The bathroom is also poorly designed, with nowhere to hang towels and very little space for toiletries or personal belongings.
The staff at the hotel were all so friendly and also helpful. When we arrived there was a double bed instead of twin beds in our room and it was changed with no problem to staff at all.
The hotel is situated on the beachfront which is perfect.
Overall a lovely hotel, comfortable room although a little warm (fans might help this) and great food and staff.
The only thing and it's a very small issue was around the tables and sofas in the lobby the floor could do with being swept during the day. Just makes the place look a little scruffy but honestly that was the only thing.
The room is okay and the location is perfect. In addition, the staff were very helpful but clearly overwhelmed. A special compliment to Jessica, who was very understanding and lovely. Thank you!

After asking several times, I was eventually given small bowls of oil and vinegar at our table. However, more than an hour later, vinegar and oil suddenly appeared at the buffet as well, despite me having pointed out their absence several times beforehand. Such basic items should simply be available from the start.

The room itself was acceptable and the location is perfect. However, the room also has some frustrating shortcomings. Overall, this hotel was a major disappointment and certainly did not live up to the expectations created by its website.
