The atmosphere
The view amazing
Great location - wonderful view from the bedroom - staff are great and very amenable. They were very happy to accommodate any requests!
was a bit on the pricey side
Great location , free car parking and lovely outlook
Great room
Great food
Great staff
Keep doing what you are doing.
It was a very special birthday & wedding anniversary & there was champagne, a decorated plate with little nibbles , & a hand written card from the staff at the hotel.whichbwas a beautiful touch. We also had our room upgraded( although we paid for that) & it was lovely overlooking the seaside..
The food in the restaurant is fantastic, all the servers are top notch, Laura & Nathan & Alex on Tuesday night were exceptional with our service. A credit to the hotel.
The lounge area in the hotel is very comfortable for coffee etc .
Not the hotels fault, the boy racers at 11,pm every night we're racing past the hotel, very loud exhausts.
Beautiful view from room. The staff were wonderful, the food was excellent.
We had booked two rooms for us and another couple.. Our own room was spacious with an extra large double bed as we expected and had organised for both rooms..
Our friends were in a much smaller room with a small double bed and it was very stuffy, they were extremely disappointed with it .
We were told on checking in, that both rooms were the same and we paid the same for both rooms.
We discussed this with the receptionist on departure.
Good choice
Couldn’t sit at the bar
Staff very approachable and helpful. Location great.
No iron or ironing board in room. Also room near some kind of ventilation system which woke us early in the morning.
The suite was great. Lovely view of the ocean - a big bathtub in the room and a separate shower. And the mini-bar was free. We liked Evita a lot. She was very helpful and always smiling.
We were disappointed in the choices for lunch. We had driven quite a way and were looking forward to something a little more substantial. There were only sandwiches and sausage rolls. I ordered a sandwich which was most unappealing and I sent it back and wasn't charged for it. The problem probably was the fact that a huge coachful of tourists were eating there for lunch, but they should think about making that more appealing. The first night some crazy guy was driving his car up and down the promenade and revving it and making such a din. It went on until after 1:30. I don't know if there are any police in Ballycastle but thankfully when he stopped, I was able to sleep.
Clean friendly value for money
Breakfast was good and location is excellent.
The hotel is rated 4 star by Booking .com but it is only rated 3 star by the tourist board. The tourist board are the better bet as I have never stayed in a 4 star hotel with a reception desk in the corner of what I can only describe as a canteen - it is not an impressive place to arrive in!! I have known this hotel from the1950s when it was 5 Star so perhaps I am a little unkind in my remarks and it is just a sign of the times we live in!!
We were located in the Cove rooms which entailed going outside and walking round the building - the receptionist said there would then be a few steps to negotiate but omitted to say those steps were three flights of stairs to the third floor! My wife and I are not in the first flush of youth but luckily have no problem with stairs- but beware if you have mobility problems and Cove rooms are mentioned!! Also there is entertainment next door which believes that if you turn the amplifiers up to full volume the quality of the music is better!!
Breakfast was good
We were in the annex of the hotel .Room was very warm and noisy with an extractor fan from the kitchen. Restaurant quite expensive for drinks
Staff and food good
Beds not comfortable - felt like old mattresses - windows didn't open so very stuffy in recent warm weather
Room was great.
The shelf in the bathroom sloped & you couldn’t use it.
We would have liked a stool in the bathroom.
