We arrived for a stay for my friends wedding when we arrived our room was not ready which was fair enough but we were not offered anywhere to get changed for the wedding that started in an hour of our arrival
We booked this hotel last minute and got a great deal! on arrival we couldn’t believe how grand it looked from the outside and on entering found it to be just as nice with helpful staff and a lovely modern spotless room. We only booked the basic room so would love to see what the more expensive rooms are like? Evening meal and breakfast were both excellent with plenty of choice. What a great find and would recommend.
Couldn’t really fault the hotel at all but if I had to say something it would be there was a railway line behind our room and could hear the odd train passing now and then but not a problem for us we had a great sleep!

Breakfast was amazing and catered for everyone, we also had Evening Meal there with wine and this was also amazing and great value for money. Although there was a Wedding and another function on there it was still no hustle and bustle and the service was amazing

Nothing was wrong at all. Perfect location , property and gardens . One of the best places we have ever stayed in all our years of travelling . Couldn’t fault it .

Some of the staff were very young and very quiet and it was hard to hear them.Some of the bar staff lacked a bit of professionalism. Unfortunately for the venue they had some electric problems..
Nice building and surroundings
The window which was very heavy metal literally fell out as opening it. The whole frame came away. My son who was staying in the room with his partner thankfully held onto it and his partner had to get staff to help hold it. If it had dropped could have killed someone. My son is a strong man thankfully but others may have not been able to hold on until staff came . Quite worrying. This shook them up quite a bit with the thought of what may have happened if he couldn’t hold on to it .. he could have also hurt himself as it was so heavy . There were people walking around unaware nearby

The food was absolutely amazing. Hotel was beautiful, scenery beautiful.
The hotel is a lovely building and the room I was allocated was a nice room - A good size, with a good size bathroom.
The shower pressure was really good.
The bed was really comfortable and I slept really well.
The toiletries provided were of a good quality.
Good onsite parking is available at no extra charge.
Hotel - The hotel itself is a lovely building in a lovely setting.
Arrival/Departure - The Ladies who were on reception when I arrived and departed were pleasant enough in their manner, but it wasn't a warm welcome or departure - They appeared as though they didn't really want to be there really.
Room - The room I was allocated was a nice room and I slept really well. The TV in the room is attached to the wall on an angle, which is awkward to watch from the bed. It needs to be on a bracket that swings out from the wall when required, so the TV can then be watched straight on.
Breakfast - The breakfast ordering really let this hotel and my stay down as they have so many odd rules when it comes to placing your breakfast order - For example: You can only order one of each listed item, and you can't amend things/swap things out if you do not like or are intolerant to something, you just have to have the item removed. I found this all very odd, and the strangest breakfast ordering experience that I have ever had in all of the hotels that I have stayed in over the years. Once I received my breakfast, it was actually really good, and the poached eggs were cooked to perfection.
I also had to stand and wait to be seated for quite a while.
