Love the stay always friendly staff,breakfast is the best.

Nice, decent hotel. It’s a bit dated but very safe, clean and friendly. The lobby was clean and inviting and staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is located across from the Superstore, and be sure to bring ID if you want to buy alcohol at that grocery store. I’ve stayed here at least 4 times over the past 4 years and would stay again the next time I’m in Thunder Bay.

The breakfast was okay. I would like to have seen a little more variety. There was a lady there who was super cheerful and super helpful.

Following up with my original review, I chose this hotel for every two week stay I had to make to Thunder Bay for work. Two weeks in November 2025, two weeks in February. And two weeks in March. Why did I continue to book this hotel? Because everyone at this location contributed to a perfect experience. Zero problems. Zero complaints. The breakfast staff? Chefs kiss. The maintenance man who kept shoveling and salting the walkways in constant snowy conditions? Amazing how hard he works. The front desk? A pleasure to deal with. The cleaning staff? My room was spotless and clean. The manager? Very pleasant and present around the hotel making sure every thing is running properly. So as someone who has lived in this hotel for 42 days, I can certainly confidently say this holiday inn express is a really good. Note* people leaving the reviews about dirty carpets in common areas - this is due to hotel guests littering. I watched the cleaning staff every day cleaning and vacuuming hallways. And I also witnessed hotel guests dropping Kleenexes, gum wrappers, cigarette pack wrappers, bits of paper, etc on the hallway floors. Guests were leaving garbage and pizza boxes outside their doors. I don’t understand why people behave like this. Acting like piggies with no respect for common areas. I wish guests had more respect for the hard work the cleaning staff does.

Very easy check in and was signed up for IHG Rewards. Good program easy sign up. Breakfast was adequate. Hot good coffee eggs were good but sausages left a little to be desired. Rooms were clean but a little dated.

I spent 2 weeks at this hotel for business. Holiday Inn Express is always my top choice for my frequent hotel stays. They have everything I need, the hotel is clean, the breakfast is great, the staff is very accommodating, and the cleaning staff does a great job. The 24 hour coffee & tea bar is a huge selling point for me. The coin operated washer and dryer is $3 each so $6 per load- very reasonable. I’d like to recognize Winona the breakfast lady- she was the best part of my stay. This woman is a bright ray of sunshine when you walk into the dining room. There is nothing better than being happily greeted each morning for breakfast by her cheerful voice and smiling face. She’s the reason I’ll choose this hotel again next time I’m in Thunder Bay.
