Would not stay there again. Would not recommend
Pros:

Location to other restaurants was good

Cons:

Walked in to a discussion between other guests and the reception staff indicating the door between two rooms had been left insecure.
Then was given a room that we entered and someone else’s belongings were in the room.
The common areas were dirty and damaged.
There was hair left ip the shower walls. Horrible

Cons:

Very noisy neighbours, partying all night until 0130hrs and up again playing music at 0630hrs. Swearing and my 11 year old child could hear all that.
I booked for a twin bed but there was a double bed instead
I asked the manager to contact me to discuss my concerns but l haven't heard from anyone.
Paying so much money not receiving a good service is daylight robbery

Clean comfortable room but the whole hotel didn’t feel nice nor safe.

Convenience of Location
Room and linen were clean but furniture old and worn with marks and tears.

Cons:

Lobby adjoined to a pub and gaming area where the general public could use the hotel as a public area. Homeless people and drug Addicts were hanging around. Two junkies were riding the lift up and down while my husband and daughter were going up to our room. The car park is open to the public which had people hanging around late at night. Another morning young couple had a brawl at 5 am. It just didn’t feel nice to be there. I recommend security and increased security access to ensure the hotel is for guest patrons only. Also recommend the car park be swipe access.
The swimming pool was a weird space and dark.
The room - unusual layout and very tired decor.
Not very sound proof - could hear people in the above and adjoining rooms. We all had little sleep over the 2 nights due to this.
The hotel itself needs cleaning and revamping. Especially the lifts.

Comfortable apartment in the heart of Mackay
Pros:

Spacious comfortable apartment. Well equipped with comfortable beds, a good shower and enough space for clothes and luggage. The onsite restaurant "Moss on Wood" was very good, with live entertainment and a gaming room.

Cons:

The hotel was being renovated, so we had to navigate drop cloths and tradesmen to access the car park. Access between Moss on Wood and Rydges becomes a challenge after 10 pm - you either have to locate a security person or walk around a city block.
