Fantastic location and great beer and local pub feel.
Used to enjoy an excellent cooked breakfast with local produce. No longer, continental only and not great at that, no bread for toast one morning.
Location, welcome, great beer
The restaurant was closed, which we knew in advance, but thought we could get bar food. However, the chef was off sick and we had to travel away from Isle of Whithorn to get something.

Room was spacious and good location.
Dont stay here if you want to sleep or have a shower.
There was a shower but no holder to keep it up!!!
The room is above a pub and can only be described as sleeping in a middle of a nightclub. There was music blaring from somewhere until the early hours (not sure if the pub or another). The room was in the front so had drunks singing and shouting until 3am.
Having been visiting the Steampacket over many years in the past with my partner and our dog, the setting of the hotel is fantastic. Sadly our dog Jack is no longer with us.
The fact that I was there to celebrate my 70th birthday dinner,we were very disappointed that there was no food available, apart from packets of crisps. So it was a drive to another hotel for food and then back for an early night. In the morning there was a very poor breakfast on offer, nothing hot, all continental style.

This place is a tonic for the soul! It is way nicer than the photo's portray. We arrived and enjoyed every minute. The staff were so good. Very friendly. Make sure you get a view of the sea (inlet). Stunning in the summer light. We enjoyed the breakfast also, and the lady who served us was brilliant.
If you are going for the weekend, it might be a bit noisy, being a pub. We were there in the week, so it was great.

We wanted to book for dinner in advance but were told no dinner provided on Mondays. They recommended a restaurant 7 miles away which we booked. Then when we arrived they said they were doing meals after all.

Lovely area with great views
Uncomfortable bed room very basic for price. Waited over an hour in the restaurant for food finally arrived just warm!
Breakfast was appallingly bad such a shame but definitely would not return
