Clean, friendly and within easy walking distance of town and pretty waterways.
Pros:

The positives are that the staff are amazing, its spotlessly clean and the breakfast really fresh. Checking in process easy and the chap on reception lovely. felt safe and pleasant as a lone traveller and carparking good.

Cons:

I think this won't be a permenant issue, but as Spalding is experiencing a lot of roadworks, the traffic noise was a lot and so it was a poor nights sleep. The venue is on a slip road and I imagine under normal circumstances the volume of traffic would be less, but it was pretty constant and as the building older and the windows tradition: there was a lot of noise. I mention as a pair of earplugs would be worth packing.

Location for an event that was nearby

Cons:

We had a room where the window didn’t open as it was faulty. We did mention it to the receptionist and we was given another room. Also the ev charger was not working

Disappointing as we’ve stayed before and felt it had gone downhill.

The location and staff both great

Cons:

The first room we were given was very tired and needed updating. No way to close a blind on the skylight.

A place to return to.
Pros:

Location fine, with ample & easy parking, & good access to the town centre.
Breakfast (included in the room rate): excellent 'full English' + fruit, croissants, yoghurt etc.
Bar: friendly & peaceful, with charming, helpful, welcoming manageress.

Cons:

Shower needed a non-slip mat.

Cons:

Room was in the basement, only light was a 2ftx2ft skylight. Had to duck down in the corridor just to get into the bedroom, felt very claustrophobic.

A lovely location and friendly staff, but the stay was let down by several significant issues.
Pros:

The location was lovely, the staff were friendly, and we really liked the décor in our bedroom. The room itself was a great size, and the bathroom looked very nice too.

Cons:

Upon arrival, I went to use the bathroom in the hotel and discovered the flush didn’t work. After getting some soap, I realised there was no running water at all. When I went to reception/bar, they were already aware of the issue — a sign would have been helpful.
The toilet seat in the bedroom was loose and kept shifting, which caused me to twist my back. The shower was also almost blocked, so the water wasn’t draining properly and the bathroom was close to flooding.
The bedroom had a large bay window, and in September the nights are already quite cold. The heating hadn’t been turned on, and no warm blanket or duvet was provided, so I was cold throughout the night.
Breakfast was disappointing: very greasy, and the mushrooms and tomato were cold. There was no option for a specific coffee — only basic percolated coffee available.
Overall, the hotel felt very run down.

Very enjoyable stay,would come again. Highly recommended.
Pros:

We had an upstairs room in the coach house but the window did not open, ( my wife is very claustrophobic ) so they quite happily changed our room to a downstairs room with a window which would open. ,which was better for me as well as my mobility is bad. Bed was very comfortable and nice size Bathroom. Plenty of choice for Breakfast as well.

Cons:

Nothing really. They looked after us quite well.

Can’t wait to go back
Pros:

It was very quirky and had a lovely feel about it. The staff were excellent and breakfast was fab, nothing was too much trouble for the chef. Had a lovely outside space too
