Booking process. Booked dinner for a certain time and number of guests months ago - rang to add an 8th guest (luckily) as the time was not suitable for the restaurant (they had many weeks to let me know) and had the wrong number of guests. When we checked in they hadn’t changed then number of guests. I don’t feel they cared about our very special family occasion which was disappointing as we booked 5 rooms and a restaurant booking.

The dinner was a huge disappointment. The star guest, my mother’s 90th birthday, only eats fish and the menu was all meat aside from one fish option to be shared by two. She then chose chicken and only had beans and mash. Mum checked the online menu the day before and there were 2 fish options but they were taken off the menu the next day.

Plus - we were given 2 serves of focaccia (no one offered this) and we were charged $28 for it.

The service was very ordinary for such a special occasion.

All up it was disappointing considering it was such a special occasion and expense for the family.

Cons:

Menu was not as on website. No vegetarian option apart from a Thai dish not suitable. Mashed potato plus beans not enough.
2 bread brought to table which wasn’t ordered and charged $14 each.
It was a special occasion but decidedly bad choice with such a plain boring menu.

Pros:

The location and the bed was comfortable

Cons:

The heater didn't work, the room wasn't stocked properly, it was so cold and the walls and bathroom were dirty plus the room was so small for $400 a night... the restaurant was also very expensive and they had full staff but the service was terrible ....

Overall feel and look

Cons:

No exhaust fan in ensuite, need a lot of maintenance eg. cladding fixed, carpets re done, and a little sound proofing from the hallways would have been extra relaxing. Was advertised as a 5 star accommodation however was no room service, no book for local attractions etc.

Pros:

The room was decent and the facilities were adequate. The room was quite warm, so we didn’t need to use the heater, and the bedding was comfortable. However, some of the towels, particularly the hand towels, were stained, which was disappointing.

The breakfast spread was good but not as impressive as some of the reviews suggested. It was decent enough overall, but the breakfast area was far too crowded. There were clearly more guests than the facilities could comfortably accommodate, and we had to wait for a table.

As checkout was around the same time, the combination of the crowds and waiting made the morning feel quite rushed, which I didn’t particularly enjoy. Overall, the room itself was good and our stay was reasonably comfortable, but the breakfast experience and overcrowding could be improved.
