White House Hotel

The hotel was perfect, clean and beautiful.

We usually stay at the Hard Rock or Beau Rivage but decided to try here for our anniversary. We booked a gulf view room directly through the hotel. We arrived a little around 4:30 and had an Uber on the way to take us to the Beau to enjoy the evening at BR Prime. At check in we were told the hotel overbooked so our room ended up being all the way in the back, down White Ave. We had a parking lot and White Avenue view. We would have booked somewhere else had we been notified ahead of time. The view being available during the booking was the only reason we chose to stay here over other nice hotels. We have never had that happen before anywhere and honestly didn’t know that could happen. (overbooking the hotel)

The hotel is beautiful. There’s a very strong scent when you’re in hotel of air freshener, that bothered my asthma.
The bar is very nice and David the bartender is just a great guy that pays attention to your needs. We had breakfast at the bar every morning and David actually had our spots set up with a reserve sign. Breakfast isn’t included in the hotel price but we found it very inexpensive and delicious . The hotel needs to upgrade their coffee brand it wasn’t very good. Front desk staff was never there when you needed them. We called down a few times and no one answered.
There’s a coffee machine in the room but we would have preferred real glass cups not paper,
Rooms are very nice, clean but there’s no refrigerator in the room. There’s plenty of towels and body products in the bathroom.
Our room was located on top of the front door of hotel, every time someone opened or closed the door we were startled especially when we were sleeping, I found someone to finally talk to at the front desk told her our concerns about the front door slamming, all she said was “ I’m sorry”.
That’s what started the downfall of our stay.
Next I got up one Morning and slipped in a pile of water on the floor. I almost fell. The air conditioning unit was leaking down the wall and into the floor.
We went down to breakfast and one of the managers was behind the bar and my daughter addressed him and said we have a complaint. He turned around with “ not the first time I’ve ever heard about a complaint”. My daughter got up and called the owner of the hotel.
Another manager approached us and offered to move us to another room which we appreciated. “ we moved ourselves”
There’s no staff there to help you with luggage.
The manager that moved us comped the rest of our meals. Which was much appreciated.
Checkout time is 11am and our plane didn’t leave until 5pm. We asked if we could stay in the pool area after we checked out and we were told yes and that we could get ready in the lobby bathroom. Which we appreciated.
The property is beautiful, especially sitting on the large front porch in the evening.
They just need to work on customer service and pay more attention to detail.
One more thing, the pool was very refreshing and they do offer beach towels. When I called before our stay I asked if there was beach towel ant the pool and I was told no. The pool needs some work, plaster was coming off the sides. It would have been nice also if they had someone coming out to the pool to see if we wanted food or drinks. They had a nice area where food and drinks could have been served but no one was there, it was closed.
The hotel be just so much more!!!

The breakfast was excellent! Staff was very courteous and helpful. Pool area was great and beach access was very good.

Everything was great..

We’ve stayed at multiple different places here on the coast and The White House Hotel surpasses them all. The history behind the hotel is really cool along with a great ocean view and a nice pool and laid back atmosphere makes it a great place to stay. And the rooms are really really nice and comfortable. This is the only place we’ll stay while visiting the coast.

Beautiful property, clean and comfortable.

The first room that I had had a weird smell. They were able to change my room for me and the second room was much better. The view was of the parking lot and the neighbors yard construction. The front desk team was very nice and repsonsive. The location was great, I was close to many things.

The pool was huge

I did not eat breakfast.
