The property is amazing. Many great hiking trails. We enjoyed greatly watching coatis and agoutis in the morning and came upon 3 collared peccarys on one walk. The staff is kind and helpful. The food was good. We also greatly enjoyed the hummingbirds. One afternoon (because my phone case is red) a dozen or so hummingbirds perched on my phone, head, arms and hovered inches from my face. One briefly checked for nectar up my nose!
Would have appreciated heat in the room. It was very cold. We did have lots of blankets.
Amazing hidden location albeit a bit tricky to find. Beautiful hummingbirds and other wildlife including glass frogs. Very friendly and accommodating staff and nice fresh food reasonably priced. Great shower. Good unusual place to stop if doing Blue Falls.
Heavy rainfall!
Dirty, dark, unsafe and insanely expensive, total waste of money and a terrible experience.
Violet sabrewing
Price.
It was a beautiful property with many trails to walk on. The birds, in particular, the hummingbirds were incredible. Everything was very clean and well maintained. Mario was a great host and took great care of us.
Nothing.
Hummingbirds, hiking trails, waterfalls
Nothing
Great forest environment with a lot of wildlife. Food was good and the staff was very helpful is helping us to find the animals we wanted to see
Just keep in mind that the road from here to San José is very steep and can be tricky with mist and rain
We loved how peaceful and secluded this place is. Mario treated us really well and showed us a lot of different animals and gave us great local tips. The food was also excellent and home made. Rooms are spacious and clean!
You have several paths leading from the property to the forest.
lots of sabrewings and green crowned brilliant hummingbirds
not many tanagers come to the feeders
Close to birding locations
None.
We had the most amazing stay and the staff (thank you Mario in particular!) couldn't have been more accommodating of our photography needs! The place is teeming with wildlife which was the reason for our stay: hundreds of hummingbirds around the feeders along with many other spacial sightings in and around the lodge including a quetzal exceeded our expectations by far! Our room was very (very!) spacious with the most comfortable bed we've had during our time in Costa Rica (it wasn't "extra firm" like most others...)
Really struggling to find something here to be honest, the place could be signposted a bit better along the road I guess, that would have been reassuring during the drive on the very steep, winding road that led us there in the fog. We even drove past it the first time as the gate was closed when we arrived (although to be fair there is a big sign at the actual entrance gate, it just didn't look like an entrance to a lodge to us, but that was our mistake and we were greeted as soon as we came up to the gate).
location, people
Excellent place. Beautiful sight and the personal and owners are very kind and helpful.
It is not easy to get to the place, for Costa Rica has a difficult terrain, and Bosques de Paz is right in the middle of a forrest.
