Enjoyed staying in this beautiful hotel
Pros:

Full of character and style. Excellent sea view, very good breakfast and staff couldn’t have been more helpful. Near the station and Gunwharf quays. Would love to stay there again.

Cons:

It was overpriced.

The lack of curtains ruined what would have been a fantastic hotel.
Pros:

The staff were fantastic and really helpful. The setting was beautiful and really close to the beach and beach facilities. It isn’t central to to the Spinnaker Tower or Historic Dockyards but the distance is walkable and I used the millennium walk a couple of times which is a very scenic way to get there if a bit longer. The room was comfortable and I loved the shower. I think the breakfast was on the expensive side though.

Cons:

Unfortunately my room had very thin blinds which were white and when the sun rose in the morning I think it must’ve come straight through my window waking me up at 5.30am. The bed only had thin white sheets on so even putting those over my head did absolutely nothing at all. I was there celebrating my birthday so going to bed early isn’t what I wanted and honestly think it’s bad form that a hotel of this calibre didn’t have curtains in the room. I only got about 2-3 hours sleep each night by the time I came back and the sun rose. Having to come back to the hotel on my only full day to try and have a nap before I went out that night really did put a downer on the trip. I would stay here again but only if guaranteed actual curtains.

Perfect for a short stay.
Pros:

Clean. Beautiful sea view. Comfortable bed. Exactly what I needed for the two night stay. Brilliant that they offer single rooms, as not many hotels do.

Cons:

Endearing and with charm; but understand the compromises.
Pros:

Hotel still retained some of the old world charm it would have been famous for, but is clearly showing its age in amenties. I did have a budget single room and it showed, although the bathroom had been nicely redecorated. The bar was nice as were the public rooms.

Cons:

There was only basic tea/coffee making facilities. Just so happens i stayed during the hottest days ever recorded in June in the UK and the lack of aircon (which other budget hotels nearby do have) was a challenge. A small cheap fan and a window that hardly opens didnt really cut it.

Proper old style English seaside grand hotel. Our sea view deluxe room was large and comfortable with two balconies. Staff were all friendly and we had a really nice fish and chips meal in the bar.
