Beautiful grounds and very comfortable room
A hot tub would have been great
Comfortable rooms and bed. Good heating.
1. I've never had a breakfast offer that doesn't start until 8am. I was there for work and an 8am breakfast makes no sense.
2. advertising yourself as 5 star sets certain expectations. No restaurant, no other food options, no microwave in rooms to offset lack of food offering, no other facilities nor anything on site.
3. only reason we booked this place is because it's advertised as having a 'fireplace'. That's a lie ... a gas heater with pretend logs is not a fire place.
4. initial interaction with staff less than ideal. Was advised at check in to call if we needed anything, which we did within 30mins due to dirty glassware in room. Called numerous times without success, to later discover (when having to walk back to reception with dirty glasses myself) that there's only 1 staff member on who doesn't answer the phone when other guests arrive
Overall a nice hotel but did not meet expectations and certainly NOT worth over $400/night. Will not return.
Room layout, it was good to have a separate sitting room area.
They charged us $100 for a travel cot for a baby to be added to our room. The exact same cot online was being sold for $99.
Timing for breakfast was very limited, if you had to leave in any way early you’d miss it.
This is our 3 time to stay at Parklands. Each time it has been better. Matilde at reception was absolutely amazing, welcoming, warm, nothing was an issue. She certainly is a great attribute to your hotel.
There was nothing negative to be said!
Everything.
No restaurant for dinner. Biggest and only disappointment.
Beautiful facilities and wonderful staff.

Poor hygiene standards
Room and overall accommodation superb. A little difficulty communicating our coffee order to staff at breakfast. Language barrier?

The room is as I remembered it from many years ago, the fireplace is lovely. The main reception area was warm and cosy.
The breakfast was cold and very limited. Staff were inattentive, one staff member was dressed in a raincoat, another with a New Zealand monogrammed T.shirt. No apron or uniform. Staff were not helpful and no welcome to the breakfast. Only, "your room number"
EV (slow but free) charger available, breakfast and very friendly staff.
One of the four lights in the living room was blinking. I requested twice to have it fixed or at least disconnected, but my request was not attended, leaving me in the dark for a couple of nights. It also would be great to have a way to connect to the tv other than HDMI.
Nice and clean, cute little cottage
The couch was VERY uncomfortable..if you’re going somewhere to be able to cozy up and watch a movie this wasn’t suited… the tv was jsut analog too so if you’re staying in on a cold blue mountains evening it’s not ideal
Loved the fireplace in the bedroom suite. Very comfortable beds and loved the heated towel rails. Beautiful fresh breakfasts and excellent coffee. Matil is just gorgeous!
The bathroom and shower area wasn’t as clean as I’d hoped. Thick dust under the heated towel rail.
The balcony looked like it hadn’t been swept for a while, although we have had a lot of rain, so understandable.
