Lage, Lage, Lage!
Das Hotel Piedra Escondida liegt direkt am Strand in einer kleinen, nahezu privaten Bucht – und wir waren wirklich vom ersten Moment an geflasht. Die Lage ist einfach traumhaft!
Da wir als Familie mit zwei Kindern gereist sind, hatten wir ein Familienzimmer gebucht und konnten zwischen zwei Zimmern wählen. Wir entschieden uns für das etwas größere Zimmer im Haupthaus, direkt unter dem Strohdach. Dort standen zwei große Himmelbetten über Eck, sodass sogar ein kleines bisschen Privatsphäre entstand. Dazu gab es eine gemütliche Sitzecke und ein kleines Badezimmer. Besonders schön: Die Fenster gingen zu drei Seiten hinaus, sodass wir praktisch jederzeit Meerblick hatten. Einfach wunderschön!
Auch der Strand ist ein Traum: Liegen mit Sonnenschirmen, eine Strandschaukel und Hängematten – überall findet man ein gemütliches Plätzchen zum Entspannen.
Das Frühstück war in Ordnung, typisch mexikanisch-kontinental, und zusätzliche Speisen konnten bestellt werden. Besonders positiv möchten wir die Flexibilität hervorheben: Da unser älterer Sohn glutenfrei essen muss, wurden für ihn jeden Morgen ganz unkompliziert und ohne Aufpreis Enchiladas zubereitet. Darüber haben wir uns wirklich sehr gefreut!
Insgesamt war es ein ganz, ganz toller Aufenthalt. Wir haben uns vom ersten bis zum letzten Moment unglaublich wohlgefühlt und würden jederzeit wiederkommen.

Cons:

Leider gibt es zu dieser Jahreszeit sehr viel Sargassum am Strand. Somit könnten wir leider nicht schwimmen gehen. Dafür kann aber das Hotel nichts.
Außerdem ein kleiner Verbesserungsvorschlag: wir lagen oft am Strand und hätten uns gefreut, wenn man uns Getränke angeboten hätte.
Auch eine kleine Stranddusche wäre super, Si dass man sich zwischendurch mal erfrischen könnte, wenn schon das Schwimmen im Meer ausfällt.

La réception ferme à 19h00, ce qui est un peu curieux pour un hôtel. 1/2h d'attente à l'arrivée (19h15) pour accéder à la chambre, le malheureux barman chargé de servir les clients du restaurant, bien compréhensiblement donne la priorité aux plats chauds par rapport aux client qui attendent leur check-in —qui le lui reprocherait, il ne va pas servir des plats froids au motif d'autres voyageurs en attente d'accéder à leur chambre.
L'établissement —seul parmi la douzaine que j'ai fréquentés lors de mes 3 semaines au Mexique— exige à l'arrivée un dépôt de garantie ou une prise de garantie sur CB de 2000 pesos (environ 100€). Pourquoi celui-là et aucun autre? Mystère.
Tout cela aurait pu être oublié n'eût été le contact extrêmement désagréable avec la réception lors de mon départ. J'arrive avec un grand sourire et dit, "merci beaucoup pour ce séjour, j'ai laissé la clé sur la serrure extérieure de la porte". La réceptionniste me répond sèchement, "vous devez nous rapporter la clé et notre employé doit réviser la chambre avant votre départ". On n'est pas plus aimable... et si l'employé doit passer en revue la chambre, ne pouvait-il par la même occasion être invité à rapporter la clé, et ne pouvait-on faire l'économie d'adresser autoritairement cette demande au client?
Même si, en dehors des personnes présentes le matin à la réception, le reste du personnel est charmant, serviable et attentionné, je ne conseille pas cet établissement aux voyageurs qui, comme moi, outre les éléments standards de confort, attachent du prix à la qualité du contact avec leurs hôtes.

Hôtel situé le long de la côte, dans une zone où les établissements sont nombreux et très proches les uns des autres. La literie est confortable et la chambre offre une vue sur la mer, avec un très beau lever de soleil. Petit déjeuner correct restaurant agréable

Cons:

Les chambres souffrent d’un manque d’isolation, ce qui les rend très bruyantes. On constate également la présence de sable apporté par le vent, et la porte laisse passer la lumière sur les côtés. La plage est envahie par les sargasses, rendant la baignade impossible, et l’hôtel ne dispose pas de piscine.
