Pros:

Location, very clean and comfortable

Cons:

The rooms were not sound proof, road works and external noise was an issue, breakfast was expensive for the quality, would not get breakfast with accommodation deal

Excellent stay
Pros:

Conveniently located, within walking distance of Civic shops. Excellent hotel with well-sized rooms & dining available at Marble & Grain. Friendly staff.

Location was everything otherwise not worth the money even though I paid at a 50% discount rate

Location was everything, easy walking distance to food and entertainment

Cons:

Textured coloured shower tile was mouldy - once you saw it you couldn't unsee it, extractor fan in bathroom did not work - bathroom so wet after a shower condensation made it not unusable. Bed so soft that sleeping with a partner would be impossible and it gave me a sore back anyway. Internet was slow even though they called it fast - So restricted it's unusable as they want you to pay for any service it provides - they make you route your own streaming devices through their network server - so much for privacy. Coffee machine - coffee cups don't fit as there to big. No mobile phone signal (or so low no bars) in room I could not use my own data on phone.

Our 'go to' accommodation when in Canberra
Pros:

We visit Canberra regularly to catch up with family, Avenue Hotel is our 'go to' accommodation. The location is excellent, easy to find and located close to cafes and restaurants. Rooms are always lovely and clean, staff are welcoming and parking is secure. I don't bother looking elsewhere.

Great hotel in great location
Pros:

Excellent hotel with great location, clean and spacious rooms, great staff and a very good restaurant and bar. I didn’t use the gym, but it looked pretty good. My room had a west facing view over northbourne avenue. Walked to the city in five minutes

Great Hotel
Pros:

The room was spotless, the bed was very comfortable, and the staff were friendly and polite. However, our room had a locked fridge that had to be unlocked by staff on request. Oddly, every time we used it, it automatically locked again, requiring us to contact reception each time. While this was only a minor inconvenience, it became frustrating and seemed like a completely unnecessary system. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would happily return, but hopefully the hotel reconsiders this unusual fridge policy.

Quiet room requested but got total opposite….
Pros:

Inadequate staff in reception when I arrived - waited almost 10 minutes to be checked in.

Requested a quiet room - and instead was woken up at 1am by machinery and equipment on the roof (?) making so much noise that I could hear it through earplugs and could not go back to sleep (next morning when I left, staff mentioned “machinery on the roof”)…

Hotel has 2 EV chargers - staff think they are 45kW “fast” chargers when in fact they are 11kW and definitely not “fast chargers”.

Room was clean.

Very disappointing stay…

Great hotel. Very close to shops and food.
Pros:

A lovely hotel. Clean. Helpful and friendly staff. Close to nice cafes, bars & restaurants and shopping. Also close to public transport. I'll definitely stay again.

Overall, a lovely hotel experience apart from the air conditioner.
Pros:

We liked the cleanliness, range of facilities in the room and bed comfortable.

Cons:

The air conditioner directly above the bed was terrible. Too much air flow directly on the head so was useless to use while sleeping in a stuffy room.
