Brilliant it was perfect just what we thought and hoped it would be.

Pros:

Very welcoming owners and staff. Wonderful evening dinner in the small inviting restaurant.

Cons:

We didn't like the fact that we had to leave after one night of our intended 2 night stay when we had a call from home about a family emergency unexpected illness. We hope to return in the future.

Would stay again as very difficult to fault. Can't comment on the food but it looked lovely.
Pros:

Bed was so comfy,
Room very clean and welcoming.
Plenty of tea etc.
Plenty of space for clothes
Location perfect for town and beach
Staff very attentive and nothing too much trouble.

Cons:

Toilet took a long time to fill after flushing.
Would have liked a shower but this is just a minor point and other reooms are available with a shower.
Could have done with an instruction sheet for the TV as we mucked up the settings a couple of times!

Excellent location but poor value for money and not very welcoming.

Cons:

Outside bar only, no option for a drink inside. In room ‘extras’ were poor, staff were ok but no real interaction, no one about when we checked out. Overall poor value for money compared to similar hotels we have stayed at this year.

So welcoming, and kindly let me come to breakfast 15mins early as I was heading off and couldn’t fit it in otherwise
Pros:

Arriving to chilled chat of people having drinks out the front under sun umbrellas was a lovely start. The room was immaculate and beautifully designed. The whole set up worked well and I slept well (I often hear other people outside my room in hotels but this wasn’t an issue).

Great weekend break

A very good two night stay

It was OK but wouldn't book again.
Pros:

The location was pretty good. The public areas of the hotel were nice. Dinner in the restaurant was very good.

Cons:

Our room, The Garrick, double deluxe ensuite with shower was very cramped. The ensuite is squeezed in on the left hand side of the room making it impossible to navigate round the bed if the ensuite door is open meaning we had to be aware of this so nobody got hit by the door. Also the ensuite addition encroaches on the space inside the room door meaning you have to close the door for the first person to enter and then open again for second person - also difficult for bags. Luckily neither of us is particularly large! Vehicle movement on the gravel driveway is extremely noisy in a room at the front.

Wonderful visit to Burlington Bertie's for the folk festival - a superb, relaxing home base.
Pros:

My daughter and I had a lovely stay at Burlington Bertie's. We had a very attractive twin room with comfy beds, an easy to use shower (with safety mat - a rare thing in my experience) and lots of nice little touches like bottled water and complimentary sweets. We were there for the folk festival, and the location was ideal, with free parking on site. Best of all was the magnificent breakfast menu and speedy breakfast service, which got us off to a brilliant start both mornings. Many thanks to Sophie and all the helpful BB staff.

Cons:

It's very minor, but we had problems using the tv in our room as it was new and needed an account to access digital services like YouTube. I'm sure this will be sorted for later visitors.
