The location was pretty good. The public areas of the hotel were nice. Dinner in the restaurant was very good.
Our room, The Garrick, double deluxe ensuite with shower was very cramped. The ensuite is squeezed in on the left hand side of the room making it impossible to navigate round the bed if the ensuite door is open meaning we had to be aware of this so nobody got hit by the door. Also the ensuite addition encroaches on the space inside the room door meaning you have to close the door for the first person to enter and then open again for second person - also difficult for bags. Luckily neither of us is particularly large! Vehicle movement on the gravel driveway is extremely noisy in a room at the front.
My daughter and I had a lovely stay at Burlington Bertie's. We had a very attractive twin room with comfy beds, an easy to use shower (with safety mat - a rare thing in my experience) and lots of nice little touches like bottled water and complimentary sweets. We were there for the folk festival, and the location was ideal, with free parking on site. Best of all was the magnificent breakfast menu and speedy breakfast service, which got us off to a brilliant start both mornings. Many thanks to Sophie and all the helpful BB staff.
It's very minor, but we had problems using the tv in our room as it was new and needed an account to access digital services like YouTube. I'm sure this will be sorted for later visitors.
Beautiful comfortable hotel.
Could not find fault. Nothing that we didn’t like.
Lovely welco.me,very nice room, good breakfast. We did not eat dinner there .
Tribe of noisy yapping dogs owned by proprietor. ( I am a dog owner) so think they should be under better control when like us we need to talk in a quiet enviroment when awY from home.
Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Our room was lovely and comfortable. The location was excellent. Breakfast was very tasty with lots of options.
There was nothing we didn’t like!
The location was absolutely brilliant. The breakfast & evening meal were amazing. The staff were very friendly. A brilliant weekend away.
Having to leave.
Breakfast was excellent. Friendly, helpful staff. Great location.
Location was excellent with views of sea from our room. Food was exceptional, although we only ate one evening meal at the hotel because we wanted to explore the area, the meal we had was first class in every respect.
Staff exceptional too, our waitress was just perfect.
We should have booked a first floor room instead of second floor, purely because we are older and less able to climb stairs, but in the grand scheme of things was not a problem !
Beautiful hotel and so clean.
Very clean and comfortable . Car parking on site.
No real dislikes.
Fabulous location, lovely quirky decor, very comfortable bed
Would have preferred a free standing shower rather than over bath. Breakfast was lovely but finished serving quite early at 9.30?
The first waitress was 'over-the -top loud an annoying. Our choice of menu was repeated loudly to the Kitchen, and the same with each of the guests. I had to complain about my breakfast twice. Still got it wrong . Fried egg was overdone Sauteed potatoes were hard and cold. It seemed quite mercenary! If I felt like a change of any item it would cost extra £2.50 outrageous. The price of £19 each is Questionable !!
A peaceful quiet start to the day (Polite-yes) however loud welcome voice and constant ramblings -became too much. Breakfast should have been a 'springboard to your holiday .And not uncomfortable! The catering side to Burlington Berties is Quite separate to the Main business. The room was very cumfortable.
Very friendly staff, nice breakfast
Room was quite small, overlooked another room's window. Quite expensive for an off-season break.
Clean rooms. Great location. Good parking. Everything!
Nothing
stylish and interesting
narrow gateposts!
Beautiful room and excellent service. Very short walk to the beach and town
