Didn’t have breakfast.
It was a dated single room that I got reasonably priced. It was very clean and tidy BUT the big bonus was the SHOWER!
It was cold outside & this shower poured out heaps of hot water for as long as you wanted!!
Everything worked in room as it should & I rated the staff highly!
Oh, & they give you a voucher for a freebie beer & discount on a meal.
Possibly the single bed mattress could be swapped out for a bit more comfort but this wasn’t a game changer.
It was central - across the road to the beach and walkway. The restaurant was downstairs. Lovely balcony upstairs. Security door which gave us peace of mind. The staff - were very accommodating. So was our lovely cleaning lady. We liked it so much we stayed four nights.!!! And of course the rates were really great.
We are elderly - so the stairs didn’t like us !!

The location is great, very walkable to many eating places. We ate at the hotel one night, and found the food nice, fresh and reasonably priced. There is a Sunday morning breakfast which is very reasonably priced and good value. Staff were great.
The Grand sadly is not so grand. It is a very tired hotel and in desperate need of updating. The carpets are old and in some places threadbare. The chair in our room was frayed at the corner, which is something small to fix. Hair-dryer was not available in the room, you could get one at reception. However if you want use of a mirror while using the hair-dryer, you can't. There is one mirror in the bathroom, but no power point. There is no other mirror available. The bed was quite soft and some of the towels could do with replacing. Maybe chains could be put on doors and it would be great to have a safe in the room.

Really friendly and helpful staff. Food was great. Lovely being right on the esplanade and other shops in close proximity. Basic, but Clean and tidy, with lovely friendly staff, I'll take that anyday over posh and stuffy. Thanks staff for your help with bags.
You could probably replace old toilet and handbasin, its old but still working. Bed was Lovely and soft and very comfortable on my bad back!

From Michael who checked me in, Paige who was in the bistro & Tori (I think?) who helped with getting some coffee & a mug for the room you couldn't fault them. Bright, bubbly, humorous & just great people. Got a couple of chits for a free pint at one of the bars & 20% off my meal so welcome to The Tassie indeed!
Location is brilliant, sitting on the balcony just chilling was a welcome respite.
Not so much didn't like, more a heads up. The hotel is a throwback to how it was, yes the carpet is bit tired, yes the bed may be too soft (for some), yes you can hear the road traffic but man what a trip! Took me back decades to how we used to get around & how you were treated. I'll defo be back.

Power points are too low to the ground or desk for various wall charges that plug in, but have a body that points downward. Such as a laptop charger.
I had to unplug air-conditioning to charge then swap back. Nothing to be too upset about though.
