Fantastic Location on St Martins, great food, good staff
Nothing to mention
Helpful staff
World class location, stunning beach on doorstep. Staff were lovely nothing was too much trouble, always on hand to help. Room up grade to a suite was much appreciated. The breakfast was very good and food generally of a high standard. Service overall was outstanding.
The actual bedrooms were a little lack lustre considering the rates, beds excellent, furniture poor quality. The lounge could have been magnificent but was almost like a community centre hall. Would definitely visit again but only if you got a discount rate (which I did)
The location of the hotel and the beach are absolutely stunning and fabulous for swimming.
The pick up from Higher Town Quay was disorganised and the upstairs lounge area in the hotel was unappealing for a luxury hotel!
Lovely location and over all very nice!
There was an issue with not being able to check in until 90 minutes late!
Excellent location and friendly staff
Location...lovely sandy beach. Sunbeds in the grounds. Pick up from Quay.
Whilst it did say the hotel was dog friendly we didn't expect to have dogs everywhere!...corridors to bedrooms, restaurant, on chairs and settees and dog poo bags in the toilet bins. Yuk! If you love dogs its for you but whilst we dont mind the odd dog this was overkill and certainly allowed in too many places. Not what we expected for £400 per night. Also be aware drinks and food expensive.
The position on St Martin's is exceptional. We were very lucky with the weather to. Without exception the staff were lovely and its brilliant to find somewhere that is so welcoming to dogs.
The plumbing wasn’t great in that the shower didn't seem to get any hot water at busy times.
Would be nice if there was a shower accessible to guests after booking out so that you could clean up before your journey if you have a later departure.
Superbe
Restaurant was excellent
DOGS! Too many dogs in the hotel and even in had restaurant. Our first night there were 5 dogs in the top part of the restaurant with one aggressive dog causing a constant problem. Please be aware that the hotel is marketed as pet friendly, something we're we not informed about, if we were we would not have booked even though we have dogs, but would never dream of taking them to a hotel and especially into a dining room.
Roof need repairing, first impressions as you arrive.
Rooms were nice. The locations was amazing. Our evening meal was very good. And so was the breakfast. The staff were friendly. The dog was made welcome.
Poor lounge with no bar, looked tired. The library was limited in seating. Was very expensive, paying for the location. No recognition for our special occasion.
Staff very helpful. location superb. beds and bedroom comfortable. Bathroom and most of hotel very dated.
Old hotel. Old bathrooms. Lacked much charm. Expensive.
Nice, clean and spacious room. Right on the beach. Tables and chairs and small garden just outside hotel and next to the beach. Lovely, friendly and extremely helpful staff. I loved the special dog food menu and so did my dog. She really enjoyed her dinners. Food was very nice for humans too! Whole island is so peaceful. Feels like another world. I shall definitely return.
Showing signs of wear and tear. However, I know the hospitality industry is having a hard time of things right now and I expect Karma isn’t immune to this.
The staff were great, efficient and helpful. Although a small island the transfers were appreciated, even though one way they just came to collect our bags so that we could go for a walk. The food in the restaurant was excellent, as were the cocktails. The room was clean and comfortable.
The bedroom we stayed in and the guest lounge upstairs were both a little tired and dated, not what you would expect for a £500+ a night room (although we booked on an offer). My husband (6ft 3) also struggled to stand in the shower over the bath. I was also disappointed that for an island and place with such a focus on local goods, all the handwash and bath products were fairly generic. There was complimentary chocolate and water but everything else was extra (and priced as you would expect for a mini bar!)
The location
No comfortable seating area to relax.
Lack of trained staff.
Lounge area very old and not welcoming.
Menu very limited (expensive) in the evening.
No pool.
